Bordello 02-19-2008 02:53 PM

i like his ballads more than his rockings of out, except for maybe voodoo chile.

ATM 02-19-2008 03:27 PM

What are Ruins like?

Anxious 02-19-2008 03:30 PM

Like Boredoms meets Don Caballero if Don had way more complicated rhythms.

ATM 02-19-2008 03:31 PM

Sounds sweet, what's a good album to start with?

Bordello 02-19-2008 03:33 PM

bondage fruit + boredoms + lightning bolt - crazyloudness

samariah 02-19-2008 04:00 PM

Bjork - Volta

Hyderomastgroningem or Live Mandala.

They're all pretty much the same, but those are the best.

A Dead Modernist 02-19-2008 04:09 PM

That Kayo Dot set is awesome. Vocals and mix are a bit shaky at times but everything else kills. Im really going to make an effort to drive up to North Carolina for the 2 shows.

cbmartinez 02-19-2008 04:11 PM

yeah i remembering hearing some ruins a couple years back and I really liked it, someone should upload

Anxious 02-19-2008 04:16 PM

Kayo Dot are fags for not playing anywhere on the west coast.

Heres a sweet Ruins vid

Speaking of Ruins, you wouldn't happen to have any recommendation on which Magma album to get?

Anxious 02-19-2008 04:22 PM

I only have Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh and its pretty good. I'm no Magma expert though (and believe me there are such people). Supposedly their albums all fit together in a story line of some sort.

I don't doubt that there are. From what I've heard they have a real cult following. Anyways, I'll try to get that, then. Thanks.

ATM 02-19-2008 05:53 PM

Thanks Dom, going to check em out.

YDload 02-19-2008 05:54 PM

yeah theres some guy on SA who likes Magma a lot and i recognize that album name from his custom title. if he was here he would also recommend you listen to Cardiacs. really freaky Zappa/Sparks/Devo hybrid

Interstate 02-19-2008 05:58 PM

Regina Spektor - Begin To Hope - again.

br3ad_man 02-19-2008 06:00 PM

Marble Sheep - Old From New Heads

Thanks to pixies. Also a bunch of Acid Mothers Temple live stuff. I'm going to start getting into more Japanese stuff and Ruins seems like a good place to start.

A Dead Modernist 02-19-2008 06:08 PM

Anxious 02-19-2008 06:09 PM

asdf 02-20-2008 01:17 AM

My brother loves Magma, Cardiacs, Zappa, Sparks, and Devo.

He was just ranting to me about Sparks about a half hour ago.

Robert Crumb 02-20-2008 01:27 AM

Sparks is rad. And sometimes funny. Let's all listen to Sparks.

perriwinkle 02-20-2008 07:10 AM
