I like Metallica for the classical influences. For instance, I'll prefer "Battery" or "The Unforgiven" over, say, "Damage Inc." or "Fuel".
I'm more of a fan of the guitar and bass rather than Hetfield's vocals. I suppose I just enjoy the instrumental qualities of the music rather than the vocals, unless the vocals are extremely excellent or extremely awful, then they'll stand out and it'll either enhance the song or bring it down. I believe the only song I haven't liked by them so far has been "Some Kind of Monster", but it's not because it's from St. Anger, it's because it gained a load of airplay here and it became tiring to listen to. I'd say my favorite so far has been "Battery". I hope to buy more of their albums in the future, as I only have the Black Album and Master of Puppets currently. |

Ya I know  don't worry about it :)
I like Metallica for the classical influences. For instance, I'll prefer "Battery" or "The Unforgiven" over, say, "Damage Inc." or "Fuel". If they released an album fully instrumental I would love it. I like Some Kind of Monster and most of the whole St Anger cd. It's very good, besides the solos not being there. Battery is a great song, but most people know me for Fade to Black being my favorite |
Metallica's first four albums were unbelievebly good and there next albums were good also, but they were basically alternative albums. my favorite album is R.T.L :thumb:

I agree with that one. |
Fixed
i think load and reload are better than St. Anger, although St. anger has a lot off riff varieties, it's very repetitve, Load it's underrated and Reload has a lot of potential. Not too heavy, but still good. |
Fixed
 na, Load is worse than Reload |
I'd still say they are on the same level.
|
I'd still say they are on the same level.
It's all if you like the songs. It's the exact same kind of music, not very heavy but with some cool solos and etc, I just like the songs on Reload more than the songs on Load. |
^^hope you enjoy the uploads.

I agree. I like Reload better, but simply because one is better than the other, doesn't mean it's now on par with another album. |
Re-Load was better than load but the best metallica albums are master of puppets n ride the lightning.

Welcome to the boards. Yeah, as you can see by the two lists made, most of us here (if not everyone) prefer RTL and MoP over Load and Reload. |

Welcome to the forums. Indeed RTL and MOP are the best Metallica albums, but i always felt that Load was better than Re Load, Re Load gets lost by track 5 and recovers on track 10 imo, and Load only have 2 songs i didn't like |
I think the album "Metallica" is great, Dont tread on me, is a great overal song
|
Yep, the Black Album was a great. I'm a huge fan of NEM and Sad But True
|
Yea I just learned the four horsemen on guitar and sad but true on drums (it's really easy)
|
ahhh, I just can't stop listening to Blackened.

I can't really get the galloping in that song, it's really weird, it's not like iron maiden galloping, it has a weird beat. |
yes, chu, that's why I won't be posting
:D Pro! Thanks for warning us this time, you realise, the Metallica thread completely slows down without you here. |
Does anyone have the Dream Theater metallica covers available for YSI? Please?
|
I just watched Some Kind of Monster and I have just one question. Did anyone else almost cry when Lars was talking to Dave about what would have been if he hadn't been kicked out of Metallica in '82?
|
Can't say I did.
|
Not really. I thought he was whinging a little...
'Dude, I'm totally pissed off... I could have sold 80 million records, but I went into my own band which I think is infinitely better than Metallica and only sold 20 million. Boohoo.' I have no problem with Mustaine, but I think he should be over the fact he wasn't for Metallica 20 years ago. And if he hadn't done something/anything enough to make them want to get rid of him, he wouldn't have had to go. His fault. :smash: |

Nah but he did go on a bit. |
I think nothing else matters aint easy.
but im allmost getting there i had to try a lot though. but i only gotta know the end now. our rythm guitar cant play it at all. he doesnt even try cause he thinks its too hard. *doh* :p :amaze:
we only have one gitarist and he dosn't want to do it eather he thinks is to hard to :amaze: :upset: and he's doing the rythm to . i always say if you dont try you never wil do it |
What's the point of not even trying it? You're never going to get better if you don't try things that seem hard to you.
|

|
Apparently they have quite a lot of new material but haven't recorded anything yet i believe.
