Last few days I've been enjoying Reflection Eternal alot. I didn't rate this as high as the BlackStar album or Black On Both Sides but now I do for sure. The album closer is amazing, a Nina Simone cover. Anyways, there is a question from this, which artists would you suggest I explore that are in the same style? I haven't really got into people like Aesop Rock or the Dangermouse colab in the past, so you can see what I haven't been digging.
Norwegian post-rock in the vein of Battles and Jaga Jazzist. Pretty good on first listen. |
Wolf Eyes - Human Animal
Ultralyd - Chromosome Gun Harvey Milk - Special Wishes Each surprisingly good. Very pleased. |
Sleeping People - Sleeping People

Pretty average and everything sounds pretty similar actually.
Plus it was all the rage two months ago! |
are you talking about Tuna Laguna or Sleeping People?
|
Sp.
|
oh i didnt know it was ever the rage. i dunno i think its cool. the drummers great. and they hit a lot of good guitar harmonies. i dont think any of the songs have any really binding themes, like they could have made this album one forty minute track or like thirty one minute tracks and it wouldnt have made much of a difference, so if thats what you mean by everything sounding similar then i guess so but they change stuff around enough to keep me interested throughout the album
|
they sound like a slowed down dep breakdown
|
yea which is
dooooooope |
The Jazz June is pretty kewl. I don't know why I called them post-hardcore which probably isn't accurate. they basically sound like a less-polished Sparta, which is all for the better.

Perfect Day by Lou Reed = f'ing win.
"Satellite of Love" is good too. Currently listening to All Things Must Pass by George Harrison. |
Thomas Brinkmann - Concept 1 96:VR
This is like a remix of a Richie Hawtin (Plastikman) album. It's actually really good pretty laidback minimal techno. I dig it |
Ten Years After - BBC Sessions 1967-68
Calexico - The Black Light Procol Harum - Exotic Birds and Fruit The Herbaliser - Fabriclive.26 Monster Magnet - Forget About Life, I'm High On Dope |
Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die
|
Cloud cult - The Meaning of 8 ...still
I really like the concept of this album. Craig Minowa has a sweet voice. There are some blah songs on here, especially in comparison with tracks like "Chemicals Collide" and "Take Your Medicine" but overall it's great. Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero Listened to most of it. It's ok. |
