[i]Soulside Journey[/i] is the only Darkthone I ever really got into much

I find [i]Diadem Of 12 Stars[/i] pretty boring, tbh. [i]Two Hunters[/i] is okay. Actually the only track I really like off that one is the opener.

i love diadem but it's like chillout falling asleep music not something i sit down and pay attention to and analyze like most other music i listen

i can't imagine black metal being any more than that for me that's probably why i don't like most of it

Actually, that's exactly what I like about black metal. Though not all black metal works that way. It just kind of drones away and even though your attention drifts off, you're still with the music.

Listen to more stuff like Sarcofago or something. That will keep your attention the whole time.

black cascade is plenty times better than diadem. its easily their strongest album yet. two hunters is good but def their weakest overall.

although a looming resonance is my favorite track of theirs. perfect mixture of black metal and shoegaze.

I have yet to check out Black Cascade, but it has a 90% on M-A which is rare.

well generally not, but when bands i enjoy actually get high ratings i usually agree

Well, looking at overall scores is a bad thing.

Reading individual reviews can help if you have the same interests as the person who is doing the reviewing.

Overall though, there's a lot of shitty reviews and shitty critics.

people say this, but honestly the ratings on MA are generally accurate compared to most places.

no they're not accurate, every shitty album is rated either a 0 or a 100, and in general all the reviews are utter crap. the only good thing that can be said is that you can find reviews of albums that there are no reviews of elsewhere

i dont even mean content of the review, just the percentage. most good metal albums have appropriate %. better than rym/sputnik/anything else i can think of. doesnt mean its a great place for reviews though.

This isn't black metal but on M-A I always thought Mastodon's Remission had the pooptiest reviews. The people who give it bad ratings...it's like LOL do they listen to sludge? Mother Puncher alone makes that album at least an 80%
