Heh, I haven't posted in here since the mid 90s and I still have more posts than anyone else.

Happymeal 05-03-2006 09:41 PM

Hasta la vista high school. woot.

Little Man being Erased 05-03-2006 09:43 PM

Congrats Happymeal, what's the plan now?

Happymeal 05-03-2006 10:25 PM

Thanks li'l man. Technically I still have 2 months left of school (why they planned on today, and a Wednesday of all days is still boggling me), and I'm still waiting for acceptance letters from the unis I applied to. If I don't get in any school my parents would probably be bent on disowning me and I'd have to work for a while.

Have you decided what you want to do for the rest of your life? Because if you haven't yet, you're like, totally screwed.

It's the first really hot day of the year this year, it's amazing, but for some reason I'm having a miserable time. I had so much anticipation this morning, now I'm gonna waste the day.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-04-2006 07:52 AM

So, I saw Leon: The Professional.
Great movie.

JonM 05-04-2006 10:50 AM

AAAAH I WANT TO GO HOME!

But the Chili Peppers album is good. I'm gonna listen to the Fleamail and buy it when it comes out. These may not be the best songs they've ever written, but the record is a sonic masterpiece. This is the sound of a band with the kind of chemistry that few bands in history have ever developed. It's a joy just to hear them playing music together. This is definitely a musician's record. It isn't a driving record, or a chilling record, or a dancing record; it's a headphones record. You put it on and listen to the perfect tones, the flawless playing, the way that these four musicians use the full sonic range of their instruments, and the way that they have come full circle and reclaimed the funky, soulful, spiritual energy of their earlier work that was woefully absent from the last three records. They may not have much left in them, but I'm glad the Red Hot Chili Peppers are still around. They've been playing music together as long as I've been alive. Their records have made me happy since I was ten, and nine years later, they still are.

Zmev 05-04-2006 01:49 PM

Got tickets to see Prefuse 73/Eden live May 20th

Kyle 05-04-2006 02:09 PM

Wow Jon you've made me pretty happy, All I've heard is negative oppinions on the Chillis cd and I was worried I'd hate it. I'm seeing them with Ben Harper in July, it'll probably be up there with the best shows I've ever been to.

You need to see better shows.

Luxor 05-04-2006 02:13 PM

Ben Harper is terrible

Kyle 05-04-2006 02:17 PM

, I can always rely on the Alt & Indie Community thread to put me down, thanks guys.

It's not like The Chillis are my favorite band or anything, but they look like an immense live band......Nothing will touch seeing The Pixies though.

Little Man being Erased 05-04-2006 03:22 PM
Hey what's the name of that restaurant with all the goofy **** on the walls?
You mean Shenanigans, right? Right?

Natalie Portman, age 12. :naughty:

Iai 05-04-2006 03:24 PM

It's too hot here. Clammy as hell. I hate summer.

JonM 05-04-2006 03:36 PM
It's not like The Chillis are my favorite band or anything, but they look like an immense live band.
Two of the best shows I've ever seen. The Californication tour was the first show I ever saw on my own volition.

ATM 05-04-2006 06:04 PM

RHCP were kind of weak when I saw them. Queens of the Stone Age opened for them and blew them away, in my opinion.

They had no energy whatsoever.

Tangy zizzle 05-04-2006 10:22 PM

Noone shall speak ill of Ben Harper, please.

pikester 05-04-2006 11:11 PM

I like Ben Harper.

Zmev 05-05-2006 01:13 AM

I;ve seen ben harper live.

Doctor D. 05-05-2006 06:07 AM
