Hey Andrew, come into this thread, I have a few questions about your favorite books.
Yep, ask away
A Clockwork Orange. How weird is it?
Probally weirder than the movie.
I need to read it. |
A Clockwork Orange. How weird is it?
Very, if you arent familiar with it, the book is all told from the point of view of Alex, a teenager who is the main character. Much of it is in a slang/language known as nadsat so at first it can be difficult to determine what is going on. It mostly deals with him and gang "doing the old ultraviolence" and other weird stuff. It is sort of a dystopian novel in that it is set in a sort of futuristic time where lawlessness is very prevalent. (Of course it was written n the '60s I believe) The real meat of the story comes in about halfway through. I don't want to give anything away though. It is similar in some respects to Catcher in the Rye, but that's the closest novel like it that I can think of. |
I've never read the book or seen the movie, but I've heard it's really bizarre.
Edit - Yeah, it sounds pretty wild. |
Lol I have seen part of the movie, the back half. I want to read it really bad though, but is the book more twisted then the movie? Because Stanley Kubrick is awesome.
i dont watch movies :(
