So, my days at the beginning of the week?

Well, on Monday I spent the morning with Eleese, before exercising my arse off, as part of my "Get Fit For Summer routine". I woke in pain on the Tuesday morning.

Speaking of which, the clear skies and gorgeous breezes of Monday convinced me Tuesday would be a great beach day. Having organised it, I woke on Tuesday to discover it was gloomy and cold. Still we headed on down to the beach, and had a fairly good time, which is always a plus. Then we all tramped off back to my house to watch Team America, before I had to go to work.

After work, I headed on over to Eleese's house, and picked her up to go clubbing. It was a good night in town, and I enjoyed myself in the sober fashion to which I am accustomed. We headed into a few clubs, and after a while we entered a small bar that was just refurbished, whereupon we were targeted by a good natured evangelist who was flying 7 sheets to the wind, and preaching the power of Jesus and dance. But it was fun, and I managed to shake him off without too much effort.

After 3 hours sleep, thanks to the interruption of a friendly tradesman who'd come to install new security screens, I did some uni study, then headed in to work. And there I stayed, until 10pm, whereupon I came home and collapsed.

I am now evacuating my home in Houston, Texas due to Hurricane Rita. Let's all just hope I make it back here within the next few days, and that not too much damage will be done to my house and the area surrounding it, and that everyone in danger will remain safe. It certainly won't be as destructive as Katrina was, but let's all hope for the best. Until then, happy trails to you all. :)

lastfm, a site that merged with audioscrobbler, it records what songs you listen to, by what artist, and compiles a list of most listened to least listened.

I was planning on staying, but I live in a subdivision of Houston that is further towards the coast than the actual city, and unfortunately it just made a turn in this direction yesterday.

I hope your house doesn't get torn up. Best of luck, dude.

Ah, hopefully your house doesn't die.

Jom 09-22-2005 07:08 AM

Good luck, Kage. Hope everything goes okay.

In response to my astronomical numbers: I have my music going all the time. I listen to BNL quite a bit, especially when I'm doing homework and studying. It goes back to that syncopation thing I was talking about that I never fully explained (because I can't do it yet). So that's why BNL is so large. But I listen to other acts as well. And yes, I just let my library run overnight, so that's why Beastie Boys have such a large number. While I still do listen to them when I'm around here, they fall after BNL in my library's order, so most of the time when I wake up, I have The Sounds of Science playing.

But again, I don't think I can underemphasize how much I listen to BNL while at uni :)

Additionally, a lot of my music isn't incredibly progressive. Andrew WK doesn't have any songs that last over five minutes, I don't think. He has a lot of sub-3:30, though, so that's why his numbers are so large. You can listen to both of his albums in ninety minutes, I think. Multiply that by however many times I've listened to them, and there ya go.

Thor 09-22-2005 07:10 AM

Yeah, I pretty much listen to music non-stop as well. Whenever there's a chance to listen, you'll see me with my headphones on. Over the past 3 days it's been nothing but Opeth, mainly the song Bleak. In these 3 days that song has had 28 plays from me, and the rest of Blackwater Park has had at least 11 plays on each song. It's just so addicting.

Heh, lately for me, it has been Trivium, the vocals are kind of lacking, but wow, the music is fantastic!

Deth 09-22-2005 07:14 AM

Holy crap that's a lot of Opeth.

I listen to my iPod about an hour and a half a day at school, and music is always on at home.

I like them, but the vocals have the "shouty bit- then whiny bit" that so many bands seem to follow these days.

Bloody work.

NP-iced earth- melancholy/holy martyr.

Sup guys. I just recieved the classic version of the video game "Descent" in the mail, and I'm listening to the music right now (which is AWESOME). :D

What is with the growing tendency in this thread to answer posts that happened hours ago and not follow or respond to conversations or posts that happened recently? Just curious.

/is actually bitter at being ignored upon entry to thread
My day is sucks / response
Why's that?

Jom 09-22-2005 10:24 AM

Usually what happens hours ago is more interesting than the current conversation, which is why I usually go back and put my thoughts in a catch-up post. Audioscrobbler, for example, was interesting.

Yeah, I know, it just IS a tendency I've noticed recently, and not just with you. Although my real motivations for bringing it up were a little sillier. :p

Man, this music is great. Too bad the game is too old to play on my Powerbook.

EDIT: Eh, Audioscrobbler isn't that interesting to me. :)

I just respond to the posts which I can actually think of something to say to. Whether they are recent or aged.
Yes, exactly. Except I would have nailed the spelling of "awesome." :p
Shut up, fool !

superpeer 09-22-2005 10:30 AM

I'm beginning to realise that I've ruined the next, say, 5 years of my life, because I'm a lazy fuck and failed just a few classes, but it will result in problems and not being with my friends in school for ages to come.

Plus everyone is mad at me for it, and it's gonna be a waste of money.

Plus I ruined Jom's 'scrobbler.

*:(*

Jom 09-22-2005 10:37 AM
Plus I ruined Jom's 'scrobbler.
You didn't ruin my 'scrobbler. You didn't ruin the fun of it, or anything. I never recognized it as fun, it was just a conforming thing since everyone on MX was doing it.

As for the actual problem you cited that I didn't quote: I don't have any advice, sorry :-\

superpeer 09-22-2005 10:41 AM

You did just call it interesting though.
