I will see Tool. No matter what. Dammit.

What's there to find in the lyrics? It's rather straight-forward.

BurtonChancellor 04-17-2006 07:53 PM

Man, tickets for Tool in Toronto go onsale this Wednesday morning at 10. Somehow, that works perfect with my schedule! Does anybody else now what the deal is with the Toronto presale though? Because if I log into ticketmaster on Wednesday morning and find that i'm shut out because the sale is password protected or something....then people will die.

That's what I thought.

iceman3019 04-17-2006 08:16 PM

" . . . credulous, divest your desire to believe in
angels in the hearts of men.
pull your head on out.
your head believes it give a listen.
shouldn't have to say it all again.
the universe is hostile,
so impersonal.
devour to survive, so it is,
so it's always been . . ."

this is why i love tool. this single makes the rest of the album sound very promising :) . . .

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-17-2006 08:22 PM
That's what I thought.
The only place someone could minconstrue the lyrics would be if they actually thought Maynard was reflecting the song on himself exclusively.

Actually, there aren't gonna be any pre-sales available..not even for members of ToolArmy. So I guess everyone is gonna have a fair chance at getting tickets to this tour. I have a feeling this is gonna turn out to be a complete mess with scalpers and tickets selling out within minutes. I'm reminded of the club tour NIN did last year around this time as well...it was tough getting tickets for those shows.

Now this whole 'no-pre-sales' thing makes me reconsider joining ToolArmy...I was planning on joining just to get the whole pre-sale advantage but things aren't looking very good as of now.

Spiritofmosa 04-17-2006 08:31 PM

m0gwai is coming to my country!

Trintar_VIII 04-17-2006 09:10 PM

Anyone know how much these tickets in the US are going to cost? I'm thinking of getting a bunch of friends and doing a road trip to Chicago, though I need to know how much they will need.

Kage 04-17-2006 09:11 PM

Any more than $1,000 and I'm not paying.

Darkness 04-17-2006 09:14 PM
Any more than $1,000 and I'm not paying.
300 bucks is my limit... at least untill I get another job.

Trintar_VIII 04-17-2006 09:16 PM

Wow, that's a lot...I was hoping for under $100...is that not likely at all? I'm a poor, struggling musician, I don't have much money...I don't think I could afford any more than $100.

misunderstood 04-17-2006 09:21 PM

I think some of the tickets listed at ticketmaster are going up for $66 each.

Kage 04-17-2006 09:23 PM

I was just kidding with you, man. I doubt it will be over a hundred. If so that would be ridiculous.

Trintar_VIII 04-17-2006 09:24 PM

Oh good, that's a relief.

misunderstood 04-17-2006 09:26 PM

^ yeah, it would be ridiculous (and sadly I'd still find a way to come up with the money). but if tickets are going up for $66 at ticketmaster, i wouldn't be so surprised if the total did end up being near one hundred bucks with all the damn service charges ticketmaster takes!

Killtacular 04-17-2006 09:31 PM

Damnit, I want the new album so bad. ACK!

Two weeks... and one day.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-17-2006 09:31 PM

I might have found a driver for the May 2nd concert in Seattle. \:D/

Yeah, that's a good point. I love when gigs have a site where you can buy tickets other than Ticketmaster. No one else charges as much as them.

Check out this link to the ticketmaster page for the Toronto tickets. Right there on the side it says pre-sale tickets are going onsale this Wednesday morning at 10:00, and then "onsale to General Public" Friday the 21st, at 10:00 in the morning. So, unless ticketmaster screwed up, it looks like there WILL be a presale for these tickets. And I guess I've got a day to find out everything I need to know about that, or I might get shut out of this show.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-17-2006 09:47 PM

66 bucks for the Seattle concert, and they go on sale in 5 days. Allright.

I'm in the same situation. I need a ticket to that show.

Tennis match - May 2nd

/slits wrists

If it was up to me, I'd just fuck the match, but my parents don't really get Tool the same way I do.

Shoot.

/suicide

Kage 04-17-2006 09:54 PM

Dude, cancel the damn thing. Your parents will understand.

I mean, you do tennis for yourself. And it's not like you have a team that you have made a commitment to.

Besides, once-in-five-years opportunities come way before the mundane.

Hmm..well, that's weird because Blair posted this up at ToolArmy earlier today:
Latest news: 17 Apr 06
There will be no ticket presales for any of the tour dates so far. All tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, through your local ticket vendor.
I don't know...hope you get your tickets though.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-17-2006 09:58 PM

It is a team thing, though, and I'll kindasorta get kicked off the team if I miss the match unexcused.

It's probably the most important match of the entire year too. If we win this, then our team takes the league championship, but if we lose, we get 2nd. If I'm not there, we get 2nd, is what it boils down to.

Dammit.

Plus, I think I'd rather see them after listening to the album several times. New songs live would be a bit overwhelming.

Hopefully there's a second US tour. :-/

Trintar_VIII 04-17-2006 10:56 PM

Well, I'm now unofficially going to the Chicago concert, assuming that I can beat the rush for tickets and get enough.

probably after the Europe tour?
i would love to get to the Denver show but it's a pretty small venue (for them) I'll probably never get tickets.

BurtonChancellor 04-17-2006 11:51 PM

Yeah, I guess I'm just going to have to keep my fingers crossed. Strangely enough, what Blair is saying seems to be completely accurate for every show except the Toronto show. Every city has the tickets going on sale Saturday morning, according to ticketmaster, but the Toronto show has that Wednesday presale and then public ticket release on Friday.

And as a bit of an amusing side-note, the two acts playing before and after Tool at the venue they're performing at in Toronto? "Sesame Street Live! Elmo's Colouring Book", and "Dora The Explorer Live! Dora's Pirate Adventure". That's one uhhh....versatile venue they've got there.

toolfreak 04-17-2006 11:54 PM

lol stuff tool im seeing sesame street
