[B]James' Super Happy Fun Leeds Weekend[/B]

[U]Thursday[/U]
So, after arriving at the site at some ungodly hour (about 9.30), I do the usual stuff (set up tent, check out the bogs, buy a horrifically expensive bacon sandwich) before getting bored and cracking open my first lager of the weekend. Rik and I sit around for a bit before a vaguely terrifying hailstorm :eek: drives us to hide in his tent.

Then I start another beer and my first joint, and then it all gets a bit hazy. I meet up with my lady interest, drink some vodka with her, bump into an old friend, Dave, from a few years ago, and spend the rest of the night at his tent smoking and drinking. Then, at about 3.30am, I am disturbed from settling down to sleep by the aforementioned lady interest and her mate showing up at my tent because they were lost. I think I fell asleep at some point pretty soon after...


[U]Friday[/U]
Wake up at about 10 due to Rik shouting at me outside. First priority is cash, as I spent all of mine yesterday on a 24 pack of Carling and some ambitiously priced food. After waiting in the ridiculous 20 minute queue for the cash machines, in order to be charged £2.50 for the privilege of accessing my own money, I'm off to catch the end of My Chemical Romance, followed by Turbonegro, Alkaline Trio, Funeral For A Friend and NOFX (my view: [url]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/billiejoe84/26082005002.jpg[/url]) on the main stage. After this I go back to my tent to chill for a bit, as the NOFX pit redefined the term manic. Instead I end up sitting on my own, drinking heavily and getting the bong out. Then my mate Dave shows up, and I finish the day monged out in his tent, too stoned to do anything other than roll more joints, listen to the distant roars of the Iron Maiden crowd, watch my phone battery die, and feel like a complete wreck-head. A-ha.

[U]Saturday[/U]

Wake up at about 10 due to Dave shouting at me to get up for a smoke. Waking up to joints and bongs is generally a bad idea, but I had little choice. I stumble off to watch yourcodenameis:milo, followed after a while by Dropkick Murphys on the main stage. Then I think I spent most of the afternoon wandering randomly around the arena smoking joints and not having a clue what I was doing due to lack of a running order laminate thingy, or any means of telling the time. Somehow make it to the Main Stage in time for Queens Of The Stone Age, who are pretty awesome. It is true what everyone's been saying about the new drummer being stupidly energetic as well.... Then I brave the huge crush around the sides of the sound desk, where people leaving after QOTSA are coming up against people trying to get to the front for the Killers. I finish the evening in a rammed Radio 1 tent for Kasabian.

[U]Sunday[/U]

Wake up at about 10.30 due to Rik shouting at me. Dammit, I didn't get one decent lie in this weekend! I kick of the day with about 5 cans of lager, followed by another 4 pints in the arena, guaranteeing that when the All-American Rejects come on I am as rat-arsed as their frontman appears to be. I know I stayed for all of Biffy Clyro, but can't remember any of them, as I was now too drunk.

My next reckless move is to attempt joint-smoking while this drunk (not a good idea) in the middle of a somewhat energetic Capdown crowd. I was sure at one point that I couldn't stay vertical...

After this, I went back to the tent to stock up on drink and drugs, but ended up staying for ages after becoming acquainted with a group of Aussies camped near us, who were like a non-famous version of Dirty Sanchez. I have never seen so may balls kicked or hit, penises displayed, or men stark naked requesting to be spanked with a cane. A lady also displayed her bits and did bad things with a man, right in front of everyone. :naughty:


Suffice to say, this kept me distracted for a while. But I made it into the arena for the end of Hatebreed (covering Raining Blood = biggest circle pit ever), followed by my highlight of the weekend, Bad Religion. Especially as I was 2 rows from the front.


Overall, good times and lack of cleanliness this weekend, thus guaranteeing I smell like a zombie but am happy. Hope those of you who bother enjoy reading that - sorry it's turned out pretty long.

One in morrisons, i think its in the cafe, so ill be on the till in there and give food out and stuff, ive heard theres jobs in the cake shop if i went for that job id make cakes all day.

i work in the kitchen at a golf course.....im only in it for the free steak and rib dinners.:)
