I was hoping you'd name drop some elite Belgian beers. I'm always lookin' to try new brews. Like I said, I'm mostly sticking to Red Stripe and boring ol' Canadian lately. Has some Kronenberg 1664 the other night, that was decent enough.

I mostly just drink cheap beer at parties, my pallet for brews is not very refined :x

Do you want lager or ale?

I'm more of a Lager guy, havent really developed much of a taste for Ale thus far. But I'll take whatever. The only Belgian beers I know of are the obvious ones (Stella Artois, Hoegaarden).

the only good beer is a wheat beer.

I actually am not huge on white beer, too fruity for me most of the time.

Jupiler and Maes Pils are the most popular in Belgium as far as lagers go. Myself, I like ale more, stuff like Kwak, Leffe, Duvel and Maredsous. And I like the Trappist monastery beers.

I'll see if I can find any of those, the bigger LCBO's tend to have a lot of imports, and for some reason a lot of them are cheaper (proportionately) than domestics. In fact I just realized the LCBO's "Beer Expo" is going on now, meaning the stores are extra-stocked with awesome **** I wouldn't normally find. Time to stock up.

I like Ale's, it's just I'm not entirely accustomed to them.

Ale is an acquired taste, even more so than 'regular' beer.

These are the only Belgian beers they have listed on their site. I'm sure a lot of the more specialized bars would probably have more though.

I'll just go grab a bunch of random beers I've never heard of later this week. They're not happy about people taking individual beers out of six packs and 24s but I never let that stop me, haha. I like to mix and match.

Mort Subite is fruit beer, one kind with raspberries, one with cherries. It's a bit queer, but kinda tasty.
