Get one of these... |

Get one of these...
Nice. But I'll just have the police and RCMP with guns to protect me. And I wouldn't be surprised, especially if it's that big, if they have all the guys in riot gear there, too. |
Writing guitar on my bass because I forgot to bring my guitar home. :p
Ugh...
They're expecting a protest at work tomorrow of somewhere between 4000-7000 people. Lame.
We had a protest against the new government's policies, 100,000 said the police. :D That is a terribly hard thing to do in Puerto Rico. |
Nonfiction is one of those things I've just never been able to wrap my head around.
It's like fiction except it's about stuff that happened. |
Reading nonfiction is something that I never even considered up until I got to the university.
|
Really? I used to read mainly fiction as a kid I suppose, but I also had a kid's encyclopedia and a kid's science encyclopedia that I loved.
|
im reading CUSP by Robert Metzger
its about what happens to the world when the sun has a super solar flare that moves it a considerable distance in space. i just started it |
It's believable, that's what I like about it.
Sci-fi is awesome, Alistair Reynolds' series in the Revelation Space universe was amazing. |
Where do you work that you get protesters?
What kind of protesters? Women's rights? Hippies? Student activists? Blacktivists?
I work at the Sri Lankan consulate. We usually get Tamils protesting. This is going to be their first protest at the consulate since getting owned in the war. |
Oh yeah, we've had Tamil protests around here too.
|
Tamil?
|
What are you getting?
Got it just now but no pics yet because I have a DJ gig in two hours. It's a lefty AC40 (4-string thinbody acoustic/electric) in a Deep Dragonburst finish. It has a mahogany neck and body with a flame maple top and a birdseye maple fingerboard. Gold hardware, LaBella tapewounds, and a 2-band EQ. Pretty simple and light as hell. |
Gorgeous. Pics when you can.
I've never been a fan of acoustic-electrics through an amp, but I bet Carvin has done a great job on it and I'm anxious to see it. |
Tamil?
There are two races, if you will, of Sri Lankans, Sinhalese and Tamil. Tamils want to break off and form their own country. The Tamil Tigers are a terrorist group that started a civil war over this in Sri Lanka in the 1970s. The war finally ended just a couple of weeks ago when they got pwned. |
I guess I'm more confused by what that has to do with you....in Canada....almost 9,000 miles away....
|
Canada has the second highest Sri Lankan population in the world. Guess what number one is.
|

I did not know that tidbit of information. The more you know... Another followup is "why?" Why would Canada have the highest Sri Lankan population outside ofe Sri Lanka? |
FMB - a 1u is 45mm I think, so 25mm fans should fit. Try it :) If you think it isn't just overheating though, I'd spend the 50 bucks on having someone give it a once over. Giving your amp a service once in a while isn't a bad idea anyway :)
Been looking at the 1u D class power amps from Thomann at the moment. Just over £500 for like 1200W per side at 4 ohms or something. Not looking to bridge it, so that looks pretty good. My QSC gives out 375W per side at 4 ohms and is a 2u D:
I've also been considering going to a pre/power-amp setup as opposed to the single 2U amp. How are Thomann amps? Any good? And I don't think my cabs could handle 1200W @ 4 ohms, but it's definitely something to consider. |

Canada is the new united states
|
Canada is like the dude at the party that has just as much booze, bud, and good conversation as the other guy, united states, but he's like wayyyyyy more chill and not all popular and ****
both people are surrounded by asians though. |

Not really heard much about them though :/ They're normally pretty good with their own brand stuff. Kinda no frills, but works fine usually. They do smaller, cheaper amps which are still 1u, but don't put out as much power. What cabs are you using? Oh, and is anyone a subscribing member on TalkBass? I need to put up an ad for my Conklin on it :/ |
anybody watch the lakeshow last night?

I'm running through a Carvin 4x10 and 1x18. 8ohm and 4ohm, respectively. I don't remember the power handling. I'd like to get a GK pre for a dirty channel, another pre for a clean channel, and then use the same amp for each. My cabs are actually very well suited for distortion, IMO, as I've tried out a gritty GK head and distortion with my cabs. Is the Thomann bi-ampable? If not, I'd probably need to invest in a crossover if not. |
I'm moving tomorrow. House destruction party tonight.
Not actually destroying the place. Just doing what I always do on Friday night, get drunk and high and be loud with my friends. |
third major switch for me
im going to law school horray |
What were you doing before?
|
That's definitely something I would never want to do.
|
why not
|
Because I have no interest in law school or being a lawyer or anything like that. Or a politician. I hear a lot of those guys go to law school.
|
that didnt answer the question
why not |
Of course it did. I have no interest in it. It doesn't appeal to me. I don't do things that don't interest and appeal to me unless they are necessary for living.
|
