after being warned about disrupting FS threads, he decided to both disrespect mods in PM and continue to disrupt threads. Banned for a week.

Date the ban will be lifted: 11-01-2006, 08:00 AM
It was in the bass section. I didn't say anything disrespectful, I made a joke. I pissed off a mod one time because I asked him why he wanted a G5 mac when he could get a new imac that is way batter and just a few hundred more. Just search for my username (iamlowsound) and check recent posts, you can see what forum I posted in.

I'm excited.

I'm going from a crappy Behringer 60 watt combo to that sexy bitch, paired up with my GK400RB head (which almost seems insignificant now  ).

Hmmm, well I haven't been a member for a year and I don't have 1000 posts yet. So if it is anything like MX I wont be on the members list yet. I post a lot in the luthiers section, you could find me there maybe.

Yeah, should be exciting. Got a pretty good deal on it. Just gotta wait for it to arrive.

Spaceman Spiff 10-25-2006 02:20 PM

We were watching The Constant Gardener in class today. About 40 minutes or more into, it seems to be about nothing.

Akira 10-25-2006 02:29 PM

So I have four days to make an instrument for one of my classes. I have to be able to adjust pitch, volume, and timbre. Suggestions?
Keep in mind I don't really have any equipment or experience for woodworking.

It doesn't really matter, I just think that it is stupid that I got banned for making a joke. But you can keep looking if you want to. Like I said, look in the luthiers section because I post in there a lot. If it helps you, I remember posting in tryxx's thread about drawing to scale. I know that you posted in that one as well.

Some panpipes.

I just used some PVC tubing cut off at different lengths, and then corked the bottom end. Just blow over the top of them (like a bottle with water in it) and you can change the volume, change tubes and you can adjust pitch, and the timbre will depend on what angle you're blowing on it at.

Okay, I have checked your posts since about midway through this month and I honestly cannot find anything that I would consider remotely offensive.

Unless the offending post has been deleted I actuall cannot see any reason why they have banned you.

And on the EUB front, have a look at the lutherie forum, i posted the problem I am having there.

The post might have been deleted. When my ban is up I am going to take it up with the mods there.

One Groovin Clown 10-25-2006 03:07 PM

So i went to the Trivium show last night. My girlfriend bought me tickets for my birthday.

I had never really listened to Trivium at any point before that show, so I guess she used my birthday as an excuse for me to go see them with her.

4 Bands played. I can't remember the first one but the bands were, The sword, Protest The Hero and Trivium.

I found Trivium to be really boring musically.
The sword were awsome though.

thelowsoundofbass 10-25-2006 03:08 PM

How was protest? They are so good.

I bought their CD i while back and never gave it a full listen. Now it's in my car :p

They put on a hell of a show, the bassist was amusing to watch.

When he was testing the mics, he called us all a bunch of pot smoking hippies.

I would do that.

I prefer this forum in that it is always a lot more friendly and people seem to be more willing to help.

I find talkbass to be more "snobbish" but they do have a great repository of knowledge in its members when they do decide you are worth helping.

One Groovin Clown 10-25-2006 03:14 PM

These forums seems alot more personal than TalkBass.
I feel intimidated there. It's full of very knowledgable bassists.
Plus we get avatars without paying, so it's easier to recongnize whom.

Talkbass is a lot more snobbish, but it has a ton of knowledge. It really sucks because I just posted a question in the setup forum that I really wanted answered. This place is a lot nicer, but there are the elitists here as well, unfortunately the elitists that are here usually don't know very much about what they are talking about.

Ok - for a lecture tomorrow I'm supposed to have come up with half a dozen logos/designs for a product I will be advertising. Since I like to make my assignments relevant and useful, I'll be advertising my own EP.

I don't HAVE an EP yet, but I have enough to make it look like I do, and hopefully soon I'll be ready to actually put one together. And when the time comes, perhaps I'll be able to use this project.

But the point is, which of these do you fine people prefer? They're only rough mockups, so don't knock the photoshopping. :p
