I finally found someone at my school who likes slayer. It's insanely rare you'll find someone at my school who likes good music.

He said he went to a Gwar show, and he said there was like an ince of liquid on the floor.

Haha yeah it is rare. I think theres only one other person in my school who likes Slayer, well only one I've seen. We were both wearing Slayer T-Shirts on a dress down day (Canadian Catholic Highschool - just like public schools, not strict like American Catholic Highschools) and we stopped in the middle of the hall and started talking.

eug008 06-02-2006 06:38 PM

Well quite a few people like slayer at my school

Bl4ck3n3D 06-02-2006 06:51 PM
That mid paced riffage was great.
I agree. I'm loving the riffs but I don't like the guitar tones very much.

FatalEnergy 06-02-2006 09:01 PM

The riffs were actually not bad. That guitar tone really slurps the poop pole though.

Bazarov 06-02-2006 10:36 PM

I think that's my overall problem with what I heard in the snippet. But oh well, a little less than 4 more days and I'll hear that full song of Cult. And even then like you said, Fatal Energy, it might be a song that they made to advertise to everyone to appeal to a wider fan base and what not.

Nostalgia 06-02-2006 10:42 PM

It's not that I think the riff sucked, it's the tone that sucked balls. That's the same problem I have with GHUA.

I'm just praying we don't have to hear those distored vocals again.

FatalEnergy 06-02-2006 10:46 PM

Yeah, Tom's vocals have really went down the pooper, so he has to make them worse and distort them now

Well. tbh. Looks like it's gonna be a bad album. The clip didn't sound good, that video doesn't show any promise.
Good thing I only dl albums though :thumb:

[Nightbreak] 06-03-2006 10:50 AM

I've just preordered my EP from Amazon, £5.45.

HAIL TRUE METAL 06-03-2006 12:04 PM

i just got my tickets to the unholy alliance tour! fukk yeah!

i read somewhere that slayer is releasing a couple songs on itunes on the date 6-6-06

Nostalgia 06-03-2006 12:07 PM

I hate that whole 6/6/6 thing. So overdone.

But that's cool; I have itunes!

HAIL TRUE METAL 06-03-2006 12:09 PM

that day will be cool for me at least. theres a super religious kid at my school and he is staying away from some kid who he normally hangs out with because his birthday that day. plus i go to a gay private school where i have to wear a button tshirt to follow dress code. im gona break it that day by wearing a slayer tshirt and blasting slayer if i have the chance

One of a Kind 06-03-2006 02:37 PM

They need to get Jeff to write the riffs again. Kerry King probably has the worst riff-making skills ever. All the stuff on GHUA is drop-D power chord lameness. So bland and lacking of inspiration. Almost sounds like he was taking guitar lessons from Daron Malakian.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL LOLL LOL LOL LOLZORRRRZZZ

Yeah. Kerry does suck at lyrics and riff making.

@ Ryan... Yeah. Wear the Slayer shirt, but don't talk about it incessently. Here or there.

@ SilentScream, Yeah. It's getting very annoying. It's still very stupid, since Kerry himself (the WONDERFUl lyricist) said he doesn't believe in god or satan.

One of a Kind 06-03-2006 03:15 PM

No Wai Slayer R Satanists!!1!111!

AA-12 06-03-2006 03:17 PM

I read that as "Kerry killed himself", and then furiously crapped my pants.

:-(

Nostalgia 06-03-2006 03:21 PM

Hahahahah.

Yeah, try drop B.

You know nothing. Kerry King has written ace lyrics and riffs.

Huber 06-03-2006 08:16 PM

Yeah, I was baffled when I got my copy of Reign In Blood recently and saw that the riffs I'd thought Hanneman had written all along actually had a lot to do with Kerry King. Same with the lyrics.

Maybe he just likes this new straight forward direction.

Oh, and I think it's foolish to think that it's considered stupid to write lyrics ibnspired by something like Satan or something like that. There's an enormous line between believing and inspiring. Almost all bands that have Satanic imagery all across there lyrics will admit they don't believe in Satan, or Satanism or any of that. It's just the right source of inspiration for there music.

Yup, Jeff writes all the good stuff

Bazarov 06-03-2006 11:22 PM

Are we forgetting such classics like Evil Has No Boundaries or Show No Mercy? That Kerry composed. Yup, I do believe so.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-03-2006 11:42 PM

Not to mention PIECE BY FUCKING PIECE

Bazarov 06-03-2006 11:53 PM

owned me too, ugh :(

Bazarov 06-04-2006 12:00 AM

There's got to be a way around it. And it's obviously not using the clever font technique.

NP: Kreator - Some Pain Will Last
Yup, downloading Extreme Aggression was a good move. I'm still downloading Fatal Energy, and I have no idea why it's downloading at 300 kbs per second.

Dammit, I could be seeing Slayer in 3 more days. Oh well.

EDIT- Well so much for 300 kbs, it's down to zero. Shit.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-04-2006 12:09 AM

for the first caps post I made I just held shift down and it worked.

Bazarov 06-04-2006 12:10 AM

I Don't Think That'll Work? Or Will It?

EDIT- Not really a surprise. Oh well. I never/rarely post in all caps.

Yeah ;) you know it cains.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-04-2006 01:59 AM

oh yeah

what Slayer really need to do though, is lock Jeff and Kerry in a room where they can only listen to Judas Priest and Black Flag.

hehe

AA-12 06-04-2006 02:31 AM

Haha, someone said that in the slsk chat. Probably you

/pointless point

I get my account back in a day :-0

yeah it was me haha.

AA-12 06-04-2006 02:40 AM

Speaking of Black Flag, I just ordered Henry Rollins - Solipsist.

SimonCore 06-04-2006 03:32 AM

This has probably been posted but i have to go off the computer in about 10 seconds so there's no time for me to read all the posts. Anyway, here's some of cult with vocals: http://melo.pl/album/aid/67978

I gotta say it's really not that bad at all. The vocals aren't distorted really, and it's fast and the drums are SO MUCH BETTER!!!

AA-12 06-04-2006 04:08 AM

Vocals finally \m/

/listens

AA-12 06-04-2006 04:09 AM

Whoa, this is awesome!

Apocalyptic Raids 06-04-2006 04:15 AM

That didn't sound too bad. Drums were awesome.

It sounded pretty similar to something off Divine Intervention.

AA-12 06-04-2006 04:17 AM

It was awesome near the end when the double bass started on the 16ths.
