I'm listening to Bear vs Shark.
|
I'm listening and digging A.C. Newman. Which reminds me, I've gotta check out the New Pornographers.
|
Xiu Xiu
|
Catch 22. Keasbey Nights is a disc of smiles.
|
Ozzy's "Blizzard of Ozz" \m/
|
I'm still wrapping myself around ATDI's "In/Casino/Out." It's a nice album; it's much more upbeat than their other albums. However, my favorite songs off the album (Napoleon Solo and Lopsided) aren't very happy at all.
But there's always "Pickpocket" and "Transatlantic Foe." |
I picked up 3 Inches of Blood - Advance and Vanquish today (as an afterthought, really; I needed to buy something to break a £20 note and get bus fare), so I've been having a bit of a metal night. Listened to Advance and Vanquish a couple of times over, then some Iron Maiden, and now I'm working my way through my Manowar stuff. Up next; Scepter.
Prior to this, though, I was carrying on that Bjork listening, and then quite a bit of listening to Together We're Heavy. |
Bjork provides me with everything I need in the music world.
Having said that, i'm looking forward to listening to the 8 Shpongle tracks I managed to download off of Zappa before my computer went schizo. |

Bartender likes the cheese. :thumb: |
Anyone who likes X Japan is a dunderhead and a facist. Fact.
I pulled out my ol' Opeth albums, and discovered I could only listen to a few choice tracks from a few choice albums without getting bored. And to think they used to be my favorite band. And after getting really stoned for the first time in a while (and thus I was pretty dang high), I layed down in the dark and listened to MBV - Loveless and Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye on headphones. It was like hearing the voice of God. |
I have yet to listen to Kayo Dot/Maudlin of the Well.
It's almost Valentines and I'm digging Mineral - The Power of Failing:p |
Choirs of the Eye is absolutely incredible. I still only have a few Maudlin of the Well MP3s though.
At the moment, I'm listening to Ben Lee's "Breathing Tornados". |
I've heard some talk about the band M83 on here, and I have a question. I just saw one of their videos on The Wedge and it was pretty good. I can't even remember the name of the song anymore, but, I want some album suggestions.
|
Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts is a must. hard to find at times.
|
"don't save us from the flames" is the name of the single off the latest m83 album, so there's a good chance it's that. i don't really know though.
|
I'm going CD shopping today. Give me some suggestions (any type of music, though some post-rock might be nice).

i listened to the song Frankie Teardrop by Suicide last night around 2 in the morning, i'm under the influence of something, and i think there's someone coming to kill me. that's what kind of emotions i want for a song.
|
I just listened to an entire live preformance by GY!BE. It was quite amazing. Now I am listening to Little Champions.
|
Drive-By Truckers - Southern Rock Opera
Comus - First Utterance |
I picked up Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus and I love it. I have to get some more.

Yes!!! Another one!!! Yeah, get Dead Cities like MAK said. Have a look at my FA in Other Music for more information. |
Do they (he) tour with a band? I want to try and get a friend or two to see M83 live but I really don't want to go just to see some guy playing with his keyboard all night.
|
Currently spinning:
dEUS - In a Bar Under the Sea Other stuff: Tenacious D Super Furry Animals mclusky |
So I bought Yank Crime awhile ago and borrowed
Ben Harper - Live From Mars The Cure - Bloodflowers Spiritualized - Let it Come Down Chemical Brothers -Surrender Mercury Rev - All is Dream Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness and some other stuff from ze library yesterday. I think I'm gonna have a good week. |
I've bene crazy digging Mission of Burma and Jawbox.
|
After a few trials and tribulations, I eventually got Yes' "Close to the Edge" epic downloaded from Zappa. It is pure awesomeness, especially Rick Wakeman's use of keyboards. Those rarely catch my attention, but the way they come in during the... third act?... is bliss.
|
I've been listening to a hell of a lot of Hopesfall lately
|
I've listened to Silent Alarm about 25 times since realizing that I actually liked it.
|
Anyone got any ideas on what Nick Cave album I should get next? I've only got Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus. I'm thinking maybe The Boatman's Call.

The only other one I've got is Murder Ballads, and it's awesome. But I was talking to a massive Nick Cave fan a few days ago, and he swears that Tender Prey is the best. |
Yeah, I've nearly bought Murder Ballads a few times 'cause I've heard how good it is.
|
I have Let Love In by Nick Cave, and I think it's fantastic. A good next buy.
|
There's too-bloody-many to choose from.
