Vlaams!
|
Ours were entirely in French too, they were just boring as hell. I just skipped a lot, scraped by and yeah. The only teacher I had that was any good failed me on everything because he "didn't like my attitude".
One time we had this group project. I did 95% of the work, and yet when we got our marks back 2/3 of the group got 80s, yet I had a separate mark (it was supposed to be a group mark) and I got a 40.
Hah, maybe you were a little punk. >=[
Vlaams!
Yeah, Vlaams. :p Although historically and dialectically that's not 100% correct, but whatever. It's regularly used to name our variant, so... |
Hah, maybe you were a little punk. >=[
Not really. I mean, in my younger years, yeah, but I had behavioural problems so grade 1-7 were spent either in the office or being called an idiot by teachers who didn't know how to handle me. When I actually tried, the teachers either assumed I was cheating or full of **** so they shrugged me off. So many negative experiences basically turned me off the language. |
I was never really sent to the office when I was younger. The only time I can think of was when I called this Mexican kid a spic, hahaha. I believe I was joking, but they didn't let me do yearbook signings. :(

This is so badass. Basically the dude found a photoseries of Toronto city pictures taken in 1977 and he went this year and reshot every corner. Start going right from that one. I donno most people probably wont care since you're not from here/havent been here. |
I got sent to the office all the time because I *was a little ****.

After that I was known as clever, but extremely lazy. |

After that I was known as clever, but extremely lazy.
I had really bad violence issues when I was in grade 1-3. Having a temper and being into Power Rangers/the WWF was not a good combo. I threw a kid down the stairs, threw a chair at a kid, hit a kids face off his desk. I dont know what the hell was wrong with me. From grades 6-8 I was just a rude, backtalking little ****. In grade 7 our class was so out of control the teacher actually had to take a 2 week mental leave of absence. |

Haha yeah, this is why I don't want to become a teacher, kids are horrible.
|
I can't imagine why anyone would want to teach grades 6-9. It's right when kids start to think they're independent and rebellious and the shit and they're in reality just little snotty brats with baggy clothes.

It's on that page, you'll see horizontal rectangles next to the image, on the right. Or just click "next day".
was?
Now I'm just opinionated. I was mean back then. |

I don't know about there, and I'm not sure how old kids in grade 6-9 are, but here you need a higher diploma to teach kids from 16-18. So that's probably the reason. It was crazy how everything changed. |
The only thing I'd ever think would be cool teaching would be a college class, which obviously would be no easy task obtaining a position like that.
|
I wouldn't mind teaching at an Alternative High School like the one I went to. The teachers got to act like peers while they taught, the school was small enough to get a more hands on and personal learning experience and I'd actually consider hanging out with them now that I've graduated. Seemed like a really fulfilling job, as opposed to the teachers I know at regular schools who are more or less miserable 24/7

idk i'm not one to blabber on about the same thing for 50 minutes straight

So much can happen in 30 years :-\ Nice site |
I think that monstrosity on Yonge/Dundas is finally almost done. It's so ****ing hideous, but they've been trying to build something there for a decade so it's good to see it materialize. A great spot for a theatre too.

I was just messing around :). |
That is a really awesome thing to do. I wish I had something like that to look at from my city.
|
I like our street cars back then
|
They can't do that in my city everyone would look the same.
Well not really but whatever we haven't grown that much. |
My city is constantly changing.
Houston, that is. I still don't know anything about the city I'm living in now. |
What city is that? What college you going to by the way I was just looking at some of the smaller schools in Southern Cali yesterday.
|
It's Chapman University in Orange, CA, which is just a few miles south of L.A. It's really nice, you should look into it if you're looking for schools in the area. Provided that you'd want a liberal arts education and you can afford the wildly high cost of tuition.
|
My tuition for first semester is 400 dollars. That's without counting the 5500 in scholarships that I've yet to receive.
Lols. |
There are paintings of what my city used to look like 500 years ago. And back then it had already been around for centuries. According to wikipedia it's been around since the 600s. :\
Ahh, history! Beat that Americans! |
I got a scholarship to pay for a good chunk of it and luckily my parents are willing to pay for a lot of it, and I'm personally paying about $300 a semester.
