UnEarth - I consider them metalcore. Yelling/screaming vocals with cool riffs by guitar players. Good guitar players, but very forced and weak breakdowns.

Throwdown - I haven't heard much, though they seem like typical hardcore.

From Autumn To Ashes - Haven't heard any

Chimaira - someome can do this better than me

Trivium - You might like these guys. Great guitar players, though I don't like the vocals, they are in a more traditional style, which seems to be what you're after.

Sorry I can't help more than that.

NEVRMORE2 08-30-2005 12:42 PM
Can someone recommend me some GWAR
Their best albums IMO (in no particular order) are Scumdogs of the Universe, This Toilet Earth, Violence Has Arrived and War Party.
Request: im listening to nevermore, iced earth and trivium but i need something similar to any of these guys.
if you like nevermore you may also like: Communic (closest band I've heard), Into Eternity (yet another interesting mix of genres), Biomechanical (more pantera influences), Manitou (more traditional yet quite heavy prog) and Alice in Chains (first two albums personally give me the same feeling nevermore gives me)

if you like iced earth you might like tons of power metal starting from Blind Guardian (more folk influences) and Helloween

You'll hear alot of that in nu-metal. Mudvayne, Deftones, Disturbed, and other stuff like that.

roulette dares 3 08-31-2005 01:42 AM

does anyone know what autumn to ashes are like?

not really, i mean like ballads...where they have it soft some parts and the distortion comes in at some part...

loathed 08-31-2005 06:34 AM

...yepp, hahaha. but i want more of them

StreetlightRock 08-31-2005 06:42 AM

Well, you're really talking about song structure, and many different bands use many different song structures for different songs because i dont think a single bands sticks to a whoel 'soft---->heavy' structure. So, yea, 'tis a lttle vague =/

Anyway:

Can anyone reccomned some Beautiful heavy music? Like... Cynic or Aghora, Sometimes the music is light and airey, then intense, then haunting. Its hard to describe. Anyone? I've checked out Aethist, but there a tad too heavy for what i'm looking for, and i lose some sense of melody when listening to them.

EDIT: Or lighter like Agalloch... with more guts

DVG.

Although I'm no expert, you could try Arcturus.
