3. if u want studio type, like atually like for example AAX studio crash, go AAX, HH or HHX
Hey,
I'm looking for a new ride. Something that will play music from Van Halen, to Nirvana, to Led Zeppelin. Classic rock, to light metal. I have up to $200 to spend (yes I know its low). Also, I'd like it to be 20"-22". No smaller or bigger, ONLY if possible. Thanks.
Sabian 21'' AAX Stage Ride might be good, go to www.massmusic.com i'm pretty sure it is like 185 US there

HeLLmO 12-22-2005 05:07 PM
AAXplosion? Max of $150 for that

Sabian Vault? $166 max.

Zildjian Avedis? $199 max.
Brokensticks 12-22-2005 08:38 PM

Looking for a new ride! I want something clean and crisp, not too washy, bright or with major big build up or long decay. At home I play anything from jazz to metal and hip hop to punk. In my band, we play art-grunge/punk so I'd want something relativly versatile. The AAX Stage ride seems to fit but I only heard it from the recording on the Sabian website. There are no good shops round here for me to try stuff out so I'll have to order off the net. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Brokensticks 12-24-2005 04:24 PM

I have tried the AAX Stage ride. It is a great ride and not too bad for crashing either. I asked for it for x-mas and I saw it under the parents bed the other day so I get to see it tomorrow :thumb: Cant go wrong with Sabian AAX Stage Cymbals!

bene 12-25-2005 07:23 AM

ok need a bit of help got some money £100-120 and an looking for a 16" crash if possible sabian to go with my existing 18" AAX dark crash for rock with a bit of metal intent in there as well

was thinking about maby AA's or if i do a bit more work going for somthing hand hammered, would it be worth the exta money

cheers

Retarded Chipple 12-25-2005 02:03 PM

Ok, I've been listening to the MP3 samples on the companys websites all day and have narrowed it down to this as a potential new cymbal setup. I know its really all down to personal preference and opinion but I was interested in other peoples point of view. Do you think the choices would compliment eachother, go with my bands music (some weird art-grunge genre), have any other suggestions etc?

20" Paiste 2002 Heavy Ride
14" Paiste Alpha Power Hats
16" Sabian AAXplosion Crash
18" Sabian AAXplosion Crash

Maybe a few months down the line I'll look into adding a splash and china, almost certainly Wuhan. Thanks guys.

LostRythym 12-27-2005 06:52 AM

Looking for a new ride. Something with a less resonant bow, but enough to cut through the music (like The Darkness and Led Zep kinda music) and a loud and pingy(is that the word?) bell. Anything except the Sabian 21" handhammered Raw Bell Dry ride cause its not available in singapore.

I have in mind a sound like the bow of the Sabian 22" Paragon Ride and the bell of the Sabian AAX 20" Stage Ride. Thanks.

Tim 12-27-2005 11:21 AM

stage rides have almost no bell. you should look into the AA rock or heavy ride maybe even the tight or dry rides

If it dosnt have to be a Sabian, then look into one of these:

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=425308

And for sound, here: http://www.myspace.com/thesingletons , go through the songs as i used it on each song so it will give you a good idea of what it is like.

Phototropic 12-28-2005 09:19 AM

I got 2 zildjian A customs, what are your views on them?!
