isn't the self-titled just all the pre-Goddamnit EPs or whatever?
Yea its the For Your lungs Only ep, I Lied my Face Off ep and Sundials ep. Then Exploding Boy, My Friend Peter and 97 are from comps

HitHardDrums55 02-28-2006 05:38 PM

yeah, but for some reason i feel like i read (in the cover) that mike felumlee played some of the stuff, but it all sounds like glenn's drumming...so i'm most likely wrong...i'll look later, i'm too lazy to find the cover now

I just read the cover now. It says Mike Felumlee was the drummer at the time of the release but didn't record anything on that album.

HitHardDrums55 02-28-2006 08:04 PM

ohhh ok thanks :) that explains quite a bit

Chilly-Bean-Bop 03-03-2006 10:07 PM

Lawl, I just saw the Burn video off of alkalinetrio.org and it is so lame. Matt looks like ****ing Marilyn Manson, though Derek and Dan are quite hawt. Other than that, what a lame setting and whatever. :thumb: minus the thumb and the wink and the smile. In other words, :smash:

Edit: Lawl, I can only use 4 smileys.

Alkaline Trio is coming to town april 28th

im going cause against me! is playing

but ive never really listened to alkaline trio and i want to see if i like em, cause if I just happen too then it would be twice as awesome of a show

...recommend me some alkaline trio...

HitHardDrums55 03-06-2006 09:16 PM

you do like alkaline trio. but get blue in the face, '97, they'll probably play Radio, clavicle, cooking wine, sundials is good, and i hope they play it when i see em again i've been dying to see anybody play that song flawlessly on drums and if anybody can do it, derek can...time to waste was a sick opening song when i saw them during summer, burn, i dunno go back a few pages and find random song names, and listen to em...they're all good!

Flex of the Yellow 03-07-2006 12:36 PM

yeah Dan is the only non-satanist in Alk3...i have no idea if Glenn was or not, and i'm pretty sure Mike wasn't...for some reason i kind of think Mike Felumlee maybe is christian...but yeah Matt and Derek are card-carrying members of the church of satan. although i'm a christian i think satanism is a pretty interesting religion.

does anybody know where to get all the songs from the demo Weak Week was on?

TakeWarning 03-13-2006 07:04 AM

I think Crimson is a far superior album to their older ones, especially the mixing on their 90's, early '00 stuff was terrible. Crimson is an addictive album and entertained me for a good week, but after giving it a month or two of rest and picking it up again it doesn't strike to me as anything special.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 03-14-2006 10:03 AM

Mmhmm, I think that. I'm sure lots of other people do. I don't like Crimson, because all these faggots got the cd and are like, "OMG Alkaline Trio is like, soOoOo emo!!" and **** like that. I like their earlier albums, whether they are mixed properly or not, the songs are great.

Alkaline Prime 03-14-2006 04:44 PM

I love the more raw sound of the early albums. And don't get me wrong, I believe they put everything into Crimson (and good mourning..same complaint) but there jsut seems to be more passion on the old albums.
I miss the long intrumental powerchord sections that could take up half the song ala Nose over tail. I prefer Matts old lyrical style more (I mean wtf is crashing inside of you like motorbikes?!)
The guys are getting older and moving in a more alternative direction, I've got no problem with it, but I won't love it like I do the first 4 albums. I saw them live the other night and it was a fun night. They started with about 5 or so old songs, and then the newer stuff let me down slightly.

HitHardDrums55 03-14-2006 05:07 PM

yeah i pretty much like all their cds.

did they play sundials when you saw them?

last time i saw them they played jaked on green beers, and thats supposedly pretty rare according to the commentary on the live dvd...so that was fun. but i really wanna see derek play sundials on drums...thats by far the most challenging alk3 drum song. that and 97 can be tricky

Lil 03-14-2006 05:17 PM

Lol!!!

TakeWarning 03-15-2006 04:39 AM

Saw them yesterday.

It was awesome.

Fire Away 03-15-2006 05:45 AM

I missed out on seeing them in Melbourne. I'm a bit cut.

TakeWarning 03-15-2006 08:11 AM

Too bad, they said they won't be back for 2 more years.

i love alkaline trio! one of my favourite bands! i cant really decide what album i like best because they are all so great. They are immense song writers!! one of the best IMO. can i just say.. alkaline trio are not pop punk tho..they are punk (thats wot i think anyway) Matt and Dan both have such cool, good voices and they go so well together. ALK3 ROCK!!

B 03-19-2006 05:31 PM

Why are you saying a bunch of bands aren't pop-punk when they are.

Alk3 are not punk, at all.
