Stephen Malkmus - Real Emotional Trash

I'm a big fan of most of his solo work, and of course Pavement. Hopefully this won't let me down.

Polvo - Exploded Drawing

just plain neat. Pavement + Sonic Youth = this album.

samariah 02-10-2008 07:31 PM

I should listen to that

YDload 02-10-2008 07:36 PM

Sure, everyone should! Though on first impression it just sounds like a more dissonant Pavement. The guitars sound really out of tune and make uncomfortable harmonies even though they seem like normal 90s slacker alt-rock song structures.

Recently I have been into pop that isn't really pop, like Pixies and Ted Leo and shi like that.

perriwinkle 02-11-2008 01:30 AM

yea i definitely like a good pop sensibility in music; good bands can have that in just about any style, unless the point is to negate all that is pop

Troof. I'm all for pushing the boundaries of music and everything, but when its all said and done, theres gotta be a little groove you can get into. Thus, why I hate noise rock. I don't let that confine what I listen to, it's just nice.
