He can't sing for 5hit. He can't be original for sh1t. I just hate him.

Anyway, I only really became a Metallica fan in late 2004. This will be my first Metalli-year, Can't wait.
What the hell are you talking about? who has ever been original in Metal? Black
Sabbeth maybe? Trivium are awsome and Matt at 19 is twice the Guitarist James
and Kirk were at that age. And if I remember correctly James couldn't sing worth
jack at that age either.

Jev 01-06-2006 11:37 AM

Uhh quite a few. They're not full songs, just about a minute or so. I have
Nuns have no fun
Back in Black
At The Sound of a Demon Bell
Wonderwall
Three Horse in The Ground
Ride The Lightning
In The Time of Dying
Doomed by the Living Dead
Black Night
A Corpse Without Soul.

Hello again Metalli-crew.

fatbandit 01-06-2006 12:51 PM

Shorten your usertitle, haha.

So it might just be me, but the lead guitar work on Megadeth's TWNAH reminds me a lot of Kirk Hammet's stuff.
Hello again Metalli-crew.
Can we please put a end to these stupid posts? I get off here last night and it's gone at least three pages sense then and none of this stuff is about Metallica...it's all stuff like Okay I'm back from eating and I'm going to bed now. and there is lots of lightning and thunder.

enough spamming. Joe did a wonderfull little medly and all you guys care to talk about is thunder and lightning and saying Hello to eachother....My God

fatbandit 01-06-2006 12:56 PM

Meh, I dunno, just some of the leads on the album made me think it sounded like Hammett licks.

:chug: I downloaded a live version of Dyer's Eve

fatbandit 01-06-2006 01:15 PM

Haha, I have a live one... Is it the one where he goes 'We haven't played this in a long time... Infact, I don't know if we've ever played this song. I don't think I even know it'? or words to that effect? The first live outing of the song?

:smash:

Joe 01-06-2006 01:42 PM

Thanks Brit :thumb:

and yes, Trivium is awesome.

Guys, I only read bits and pieces of what's been going on but its been like 4 or 5 pages since I last talked. There have been a lot of one line posts. Some of those are helpful and more the thread on while some just take up space. Would you guys mind and cut the spam down a little bit? Thanks.

What's this very rare thing? Some studio thing?

timmySmi 01-06-2006 02:40 PM
i dont get how wel do it

im interested though
Lets say a guitar player records himself playing a song. I can mixed my bass recording into that and twick it enough to make it sound good. The better the player the better it will sound in the recording. Anyone who's intrested just post or PM me so we can have a discussion on songs that we are comfortable to play with.

I had chips and a couch.
Im such a glutton mwahahahahaha!

Joe 01-06-2006 02:47 PM

Mein, that's what I was talking about. That's considered spam.

Ok guys I need your help. I'm doing a medley with one of my friends for a show at my school. I've got an idea so far. Tell me what you think

I didn't record it, but I know the points in the songs that I'll be playing.

One: 19s-1:15 (intro)
Fade to Black: 2:19-2:34 (chorus)
The Four Horsemen: 2s-18s (intro)
Battery: 1:07-1:30 (gallop)
Creeping Death: 3:19-3:38 (end of solo)
and ending with Nothing Else Matters: 4:55-5:45 (solo --> no lyrics, just the melody at the end)

So, what do you guys think?

Mein bass 01-06-2006 02:47 PM

Im learning ride the lightning on bass.
Pretty cool tune.
What should I learn next?

I think it's pretty cool.
What do you play?

Edit-Double post? Pssth

Joe 01-06-2006 02:51 PM

We both play guitar. I'm a ton better than him, so I'm a little worried about teaching him that stuff but he's doing the rhythm parts (minus Battery)

Mein bass 01-06-2006 02:53 PM

Ouch.
Well James stuff isn't to complicated is it?

Joe 01-06-2006 02:54 PM
Ouch.

Well if you know the gallop riff in the beginning of Battery (the distorted part) then yes it's very complicated. I should be able to teach him Four Horsemen intro really quickly because it's not too much different from Breadfan which he can play well.

Mein bass 01-06-2006 02:56 PM

Well,galloping isn't to hard.
But the only reason im good at galloping is because I went through an Iron Maiden phase when I first started bass.
You could always water down the rhythm guitar parts some?

Thats cool, but I rekon you should get the interlude breakdown bit in from creeping death after the solo. 'Cause if the crowd is a cool one, you can get em all singing "DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!"

I slowed it down a little bit. I can do it at nearly full speed.

That's a good idea. I'll keep it going, but chances are they won't chant

Britton 01-06-2006 03:42 PM

That sounds like it's gonna be coo Joe. Did you ever hear that awfull medly that I did a couple months ago?

Metallica is actually really easy to learn baring a couple songs. I've been learning lots of Trivium and COB lately, Now coming back to learn some more Tallica it's really easy. Even Battery was easy to learn. I might try Dyers Eve sometime...although the song doesn't really mean anything to me.

The next Tallica song I'm gonna learn is Probably to Live is to die. I love all the riffs in there. I also want to learn the orion solo's. And I'm gonna finish learning the Fade to Black Solo.

Mein Bass: That's what a decent post should look like.

DIE DIE DIE DIE BY MY HAND I CREEP ACROSS THE LAND!!

Joe 01-06-2006 03:44 PM

I remember that medley. I had two problems with it: You needed more guitar mix, not just like a solo with no rhythm, and it was too long.

I tried learning Trivium and it hasn't worked yet. I'll be trying again soon especially since my new guitar teacher is into Trivium and CoB so that'll be good. I've been working on TLITD also.

Yea I wish I had the time to go back in and re-do that. I only had one guitar (electric) and that awfull effect that didn't fit any of the song.

Maybe I'll try again. I'm gonna record some of my trivium. And all of MOP

Joe 01-06-2006 03:56 PM

I remember that, the chorus. It went throughout the whole song.. You should redo it. Make it about half as long with 2 guitars.

I wanna learn some Trivium! I'm going to learn Like Light to Flies. Then to finish Creeping Death
