Shudder to Think - Pony Express Record

honestly, if you're into rock music at all, you owe it to yourself to check this out. This is a seriously fucking tight, punchy, disciplined band. You'll know what I mean when you hear it. They're not King Crimson or anything, but they pack quite a few complicated time signatures and weird structures into a four-minute rock song without getting pretentious or losing the plot. I'm in awe of how subtly great the musicianship is.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-22-2007 09:32 PM

Four Tet - Rounds

I'm also digging the current A&I listening party, Annuals. They're pretty solid, but someone should upload an album or something.

pulseczar 04-22-2007 09:33 PM

I guess I'm like 9 years too late in getting into the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I remember when it came out and won lots of grammy's, but I thought the videos were boring. In '96 I loooooved the Score by the Fugees, but when she went solo I was all "where's the tight rhymes, yo?" I was also like 11.

Little Man being Erased 04-22-2007 11:04 PM

I can just see an 11 year old Alex saying "where's the tight rhymes, yo?" It looks funny.

Thanks 04-22-2007 11:31 PM

On second thought this album is WAY too fucking long.

Little Man being Erased 04-22-2007 11:54 PM

Yeah, the singles are great but the rest of the album leaves a bit to be desired.
