That's true. I've been toying with this idea for a while: now that everyone has stars, and thus give out more rep in proportion to theirs, it is now much easier for a fairly likable poster to get stars. This reduces the level of meaning inherent in it, especially with all the rep whoring that goes on. These days it seems like you can distinguish good sentence writers simply because they have stars. I think we should now raise the level of rep it takes to get stars or institute a more incremental system, i.e. 1000 points gets you one star, 2000 additional points gets you two, 3000 additional gets three...to make the rep and star system more special again.

EDIT: and of course, 1,000 posts before any stars at all.
