CunningStunt 01-06-2006 06:24 AM

:naughty:

Sorry, had to do it :p

iluvkirkhammett 01-06-2006 06:34 AM

I was like, should I go find some candles... nah the power will back on soon.

Sph 01-06-2006 06:54 AM

Power didn't go out here. Not that it would've mattered, there was heaps of lightning.

iluvkirkhammett 01-06-2006 07:06 AM

It was like on Third Rock from the Sun this morning.
"But I need a flashlight..."
"You can see out there, the lightning is plenty bright."

the_shadow_rose 01-06-2006 07:07 AM

metallica is so good. but sometimes they turn out with some songs that are...uncharacteristic of them, y'know. i have these friends that think metallica is v. ****ty cuz hetfield 'cant sing'. then i made them hear the unforgiven II and nothing else matters...
the latter was one of teh first songs i learned to play. on my acoustic. *ahh*

we-ell. i lurve metallica. thought the black album was by far the best tho.

W.M.A 01-06-2006 07:25 AM

do you prefer their new stuff or their old stuff?

Sph 01-06-2006 07:27 AM

Old stuff FTW! Their new stuff is very cool too though.

iluvkirkhammett 01-06-2006 07:58 AM

I love their old stuff and I love their new stuff. I can't choose.

Sph 01-06-2006 08:00 AM

It is hard. I mean they are two completely different styles.

kirkslash 01-06-2006 09:10 AM
there old stuff ownd all

Lyrically? Maybe. But musically? Definetely not. Metallica said themselves, they changed their style because they wanted to be better musically.

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 01-06-2006 09:13 AM

Metallica Fact of the Day: Metallica have never had a single reach #1 in the UK

kirkslash 01-06-2006 09:13 AM

well their new music is great
its simple but effective.
mayb its because you're used to the old stuff but the new is great too i think.

kirkslash 01-06-2006 09:13 AM

they didnt?. . . .in holland lots. . . lol

Yeah I hate fans who say, "Oh I only like their old stuff." Minus a few songs on Reload, the later half of their carreer has seen some excellent music. IMO, more than in the first half anyway.

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 01-06-2006 09:15 AM
they didnt?. . . .in holland lots. . . lol
Just goes to show how, overall, Britain is a musical wasteland, if you will.

kirkslash 01-06-2006 09:16 AM

thats true, i hate them too, if you dont like it, well thats your problem then why youre still a fan??????? . .

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 01-06-2006 09:17 AM

Yeah! Just the other day my brother said to me, "I'm a TRUE fan! I don't like all the new **** like you do!" I mean wtf? I like mostly everything Metallica have released, he only likes MOP, RTL and KEM. Who's the real true fan?

MoRbiDsKaTeR 01-06-2006 09:19 AM

Some of their lyrics ideas on the St. Anger album though cut short i think. Lyrics like 'Pure, if I'. I felt like the ideas that Metallica were trying to convey didnt hold any water compared to classics like Creeping Death. On another note, i still love thier latest recording

kirkslash 01-06-2006 09:19 AM

i think you are, if youre a true fan, then you like all of the stuff.
o i got to go.
be back l8er.
I just like all of it it makes you a true fan, if you like 3 albums youre not a true fan
you can like one best but dont like only 3 to be a true fan. . . .

Why not?

MoRbiDsKaTeR 01-06-2006 09:24 AM

why do i think they fell short?

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 01-06-2006 09:24 AM

Haha if you arrange R&M in order of most postst in a thread, you see that Metallica is the biggest official band thread :smoke:

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 01-06-2006 09:25 AM
why do i think they fell short?
No, why don't you think the ideas conveyed in St. Anger don't hold water?

MoRbiDsKaTeR 01-06-2006 09:25 AM

Haha yea...i noticed that before

timmySmi 01-06-2006 09:28 AM

Just out of curiousity does anybody own recording equipment? If so I reckon we should make an online Metallica band. It's obviously being done before but hey who cares we are all fans and deserve to show of are playing skills and love for Metallica. Iam a bass player and own a Sadowsky vintage 5 - String with the near enough same specs as Jason. I also own a Jim Dunlop wah pedal and Big muff Overdrive,Fuzz pedal so I can easily lay into For whom the bellz, Ktulu, ect. Anyone fancie giving it ago?

MoRbiDsKaTeR 01-06-2006 09:28 AM

Oh that idea. To me, i dunno. It just didnt seem to stand out to me on the lyric front of things. It sounded simple. By no means i dont like there music these days, just it isnt as strong. Very much anticipating thier new album being realised this year...thinks its gonna be there last?

MoRbiDsKaTeR 01-06-2006 09:30 AM

I was never a big fan of jason, a much like Trujillo though. Reminds me of the crazy finger picking of Burton

Sph 01-06-2006 09:31 AM

Nothin'

You said the "ideas" conveyed with the lyrics don't "hold water". You're telling me that the lyrics don't stand out, that they sounded simple, but what is wrong with the ideas? Why don't they hold water?
Very much anticipating thier new album being realised this year...thinks its gonna be there last?
Nah I don't think they paid a fortune for Phil to sort out their relationships, and $1,000,000 for Rob, and for HQ just for St. Anger and ONE other album? Besides, how could they give up now? They've been through too much to just end it. I think something horrible has to happen to James, Lars or Kirk for it to end.
