where'd you get it?
I just searched "Friend of the Devil bass tab" on google, but I think it's on mx, too.

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm really stupid. It's backwards.

Thoughts on Fleetwood Mac, anyone?

Badmoon 05-31-2005 08:50 PM

Not good.
Thoughts on Fleetwood Mac, anyone?
I like Peter Green. His song Oh Well is amazing.

Illmatic 05-31-2005 09:28 PM

I'm not too fond of Fleetwood Mac, to be honest.

Badmoon 05-31-2005 09:29 PM

Yea, Peter Green is cool though.

PinkFreud 05-31-2005 10:01 PM

early fleetwood mac is good. how can you take three members of the bluesbreakers and not be a good blues rock band?

thickasabrick 05-31-2005 10:39 PM
Thoughts on Fleetwood Mac, anyone?
I really like them, I've got 7 of their albums. Their earlier blues stuff was great, and their later seventies albums were just as good.

Leper 05-31-2005 11:08 PM

Fleetwood Mac is one of those bands to me where you here so many of their songs on the radio, but never realize it's them. More and more of there hits are being revealed to me these days, and I really like them.

ArcLite 05-31-2005 11:54 PM

They're one of my dad's favorite bands so I was subjected to them quite a bit growing up. And, as lepper already said, they're on the radio a lot. Don't think I ever heard a song by them that I didn't like. Good, unique vocal styles in all members that sing, and good songwriting.

Leper 06-01-2005 12:05 AM

Alright! Brian's back!! lol

ArcLite 06-01-2005 12:07 AM

You know it :). What's going on?

Leper 06-01-2005 12:16 AM

Just glad to see you keep your word and go back to the classic again man hehe

Walrus Gumboot 06-01-2005 08:53 AM
Yeah, the guitar intro is a beleive just a G scale played backwards so I was trying to figure out if the bass is it forwards. If you know how it goes, could you help me with it?
I've been working on the bassline for that song for weeks, the intro is the same as the guitar (g-scale backwards) but it doesn't play it very long. I could do bass if you need one, if you are really going to do this thing

Brian Wilson's Smile is fantastic! I have to admit I wasn't to big of a fan of Pet Sounds either. Every song sounds almost completly different, Brian's voice is better than ever, every song just flows greatly with the album and harmonies on this album are rivaled by none. I think almost everyone in this thread will appreciate it. :)

If you want to learn more about this fantastic album read Med's reveiw. (below)

Veteran of the psychic wars 06-01-2005 10:27 AM

I like Fleetwood Mac. They had a great knack for making catchy, extremely listeneable pop songs.
I'm especially fond of the vocal harmonies on 'The Chain'.

Badmoon 06-01-2005 10:44 AM

DMV won the NRMOTM! Second (maybe third) Classic Rock regular n00b to win it.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-01-2005 10:54 AM

Isn't it good to know we have great n00bs? Congrats DMV. :thumb

Cream is soooo overrated it makes me shudder.

I must admit that Cream is somwhat overrated, but keep in mind how much their work contributed to the evolution of music over the past 30 years or so.

I disagree, I'd say they get the right amount of recognition or less then they deserve.

Lunch, I got that Bob Marleyish Cream shirt you were looking at, it was at this store for like $20 so I got it.

Overrated by who? I rarely see/hear their name come up at all, outside this thread. Maybe it's because they were one of the most talented groups rock has ever seen, person for person.

Speaking of Cream, I just got Live Cream Volume II, along with Europe 72(finally), and A Space in Time (Ten Years After album).

You should've just gotten the Golden Road box set, and I've only heard the Ten Years After album that you sent me, but I really like.

Well by the time I realized I was going to end up buying all those records, I already had about 5 of them, so it was too late. I blew it though, for sure.

Badmoon 06-01-2005 05:24 PM

Just bought...

Johnny Cash - Unchained

Best Johnny Cash album I've heard; it even beats Live At Folsom Prison. Possibly (Unchained) one of my alltime favorites.

Did you guys know that Elvis's hair was actually dyed? He actually had blond hair.

Thanks for voting for me you guys. There are so many metal fans and I never really post any where metal. I didn't really think I'd get it.

Johnny Cash did wicked live shows.

Thanks for the Elvis info.

That he is. I found an old tape in my house my mom made in the '80s, and it had some of his songs. "Pump It Up" > most other songs.

jpj 06-01-2005 06:28 PM

Anyone else watching The Eagles on NBC?

robo2448 06-01-2005 06:29 PM

I am now

EDIT- I like what I'm hearing, I think I'll buy Hell Freezes Over or a Greatest Hits soon. I like their laid-back feel.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-01-2005 06:43 PM

What time zone and what channel are you guys talking about?

jpj 06-01-2005 07:00 PM
What time zone and what channel are you guys talking about?
It started at 8 Eastern time on NBC.
Anyone else watching The Eagles on NBC?
Yes, good show so far.

But you know they'll end up not playing "Hotel California",
"Take it Easy" and "Life in the Fastlane" :p.

:upset: That's some of their best tunes. I'm sure almost every regular has heard the live acoustic version of Hotel California on Hell Freezes Over. If they pull something like that, I'll be amazed.

robo2448 06-01-2005 07:10 PM

I thought Badmoon was joking. Not sure now though.
