fast drumming =/= good drumming

seriously, everything the dude writes is just annoying and show-boat-y

Angmar 02-06-2009 11:41 AM

oh ya forgot sorry lolol

His drumming is precise and really fitting all the time, ya it's loud but honestly I think the playing is more important than the tone.

Stormrider 02-06-2009 12:14 PM

dude from through the eyes of the dead is better amirite?

I'm this way about everything. Even for vocals. Good melodies can override an annoying voice. See: Deris-era Helloween
dude from through the eyes of the dead is better amirite?
Their first drummer, yeah. I mean, he doesn't just blast blast blast blast blast, but his snare sounds beautiful, his beats are a lot more intricate, he's much steadier, and just all around less show-boaty.

And I'm sure their past two can play Corn's material easily.
His drumming is precise and really fitting all the time,
he's as clean as any other decently clean metal drummer, his beats are fitting, but they're pretty boring and overly flashy
ya it's loud but honestly I think the playing is more important than the tone.
I think good playing can easily be ruined by bad tone, but annoying playing is bad on its own, so....

OMFG i can't believe this thread is still going strong. i haven't been on this site in like over a year. i totally forgot about it lol. anyway, after a somewhat long hiatus from death metal, probably too long actually, i've been getting back into it full force. had to start off with Autopsy, of course.

witchxrapist 02-06-2009 05:29 PM

of course. band is ****ing legit.

EdgeOfSanity 02-06-2009 06:27 PM

Stormrider 02-06-2009 07:13 PM

Over a year would probably imply he stopped posting before you signed up.

Lykathea Aflame! Just discovered them, I have officially named that album best DM album ever, wayyyy better than None So Vile. And Corn is a beast, his fills are so creative...

Edit: And I used to watch Thundercats all the time, was an awesome show.

Angmar 02-06-2009 09:12 PM

No not best DM ever try again.

Si1v3RfaNg 02-06-2009 09:15 PM

The best IMO, what do you think the best is?

Moon Flavor 02-06-2009 09:17 PM

Dismembertopsy- Like an Everflowing Generic Riff

rasputin 02-06-2009 09:17 PM

Lykathea Aflame are good but definitely not the best ever. There's no such thing.

Angmar 02-06-2009 09:23 PM

My favorite DM album is Human by Death, Cause of Death, Close to a World Below and Unquestionable Presence fall somewhere close behind.
Dismembertopsy- Like an Everflowing Generic Riff
lol shut up

rasputin 02-06-2009 10:01 PM

They have a different line up for this new album right?

rasputin 02-07-2009 08:22 AM

I don't know really know anything about the band, I had listened to some myspace tracks a while ago and was very unimpressed, and I was going to ignore the album until someone asked me for my opinion of it, so I listened to it.

Meh. Their first album isn't that bad. Haven't listened to the new one though. I'd expect something better from ex-pestilence and ex-necrophagist musicians.

all very heilworthy choices

silence of the centuries (depravity), and then probably famine (graves of valor), the fragile concept of affection (cartilage), and empires (animosity)

Angmar 02-07-2009 11:39 AM

I really need to get some Cartilage.

hismajestythepope 02-07-2009 11:40 AM

their riffs are mad sinister sounding

EdgeOfSanity 02-07-2009 11:40 AM

Most of my favorites come from Sweden...actually a lot of everything that I listen to comes from Sweden.
