I've read a lot of the Bible, because I used to be a way-too-devoted-Christian. I've moved on.

Amnesiac is a cool album. I think I'll get back into Radiohead.

Illmatic 08-02-2005 08:07 PM

It's okay, my post was so awesome people were rendered speechless.
Ray kills thread, more at 11
How did you know that Ray was going to kill the thread?

Anyway....

Yeah The Da Vinci Code was not as good as everyone thinks it is. It is very poorly written. The plot is pretty cool but the fact that he cant write totally ruined it for me.

Lunch 08-02-2005 08:58 PM
How did you know that Ray was going to kill the thread?
He killed it twice.

I still haven't read the Da Vinci Code. Maybe I'll get around to it eventually.

Drugstep 08-02-2005 09:00 PM

I have the audio book, it's my aunt's but I have it, and one day I might listen to it.

I'm gonna go shopping on eBay for The Who, Pink Floyd and Radiohead shite.

Lunch 08-02-2005 09:02 PM

Do you mean music or something else? I have plenty of Who (and Floyd for that matter) if you want some uploaded/sent to you.

Drugstep 08-02-2005 09:05 PM

I'm trying to get CD's. But the chances of any YSI links working on my computer or 1 in about 250. My browser is completely rejecting YouSendIt, but if you could upload a few cool songs from Tommy or Quadrophenia, it might work.

Lunch 08-02-2005 09:06 PM

Unless you have AIM I'm not going to take those odds, so sorry. You should own the CDs anyway.

BludgeonySteve 08-02-2005 09:57 PM

You ****ing killed the thread, Lunch.

Moses 08-02-2005 10:07 PM

Ok so I'm doing a thread on Rachmaninoff in a few. I better see some replies or whoever doesn't reply will be accused of being closed minded.

Rachmaninoff, the name sounds familiar. I'll read the thread to find out where I may have heard it.

Steerpike 08-02-2005 10:15 PM

Are any of you familiar with the Cool Thing Factor? Long story short, it's a term coined by cartoonist Fred Gallagher for the marketing tactic of making something appear so awesome, you have to have it.

You know what else? It just started affecting me. I must have one of those.

A deck of magic cards?

Moses 08-02-2005 10:22 PM
Rachmaninoff, the name sounds familiar. I'll read the thread to find out where I may have heard it.
He's a classical composer.

RCA 08-02-2005 10:25 PM
He's a classical composer.
WELL DURR

But I heard his name somewhere else too.

BludgeonySteve 08-02-2005 10:26 PM

Like when people were playing one of his classical songs, maybe?

Steerpike 08-02-2005 10:27 PM
A deck of magic cards?
Specifically, the "ghost deck." I already have a blue stripper deck. I just love the look of the ghost deck. A couple of those types don't even need to be used for magic. You can use them like regular playing cards if you want.

Magic is becoming a hobby of mine. And if there is one quality about me that I can take to a fault, it's that a relish standing out in a crowd by looking or doing something different than anybody else.

You seem to be a cynic when if comes to certain things. Movies, books, etc..

What didn't you like about his style, or writing, or whatever? I've finished TDC, and now I'm reading Deception Point. His style doesn't bother me at all. :-D

RCA 08-02-2005 10:31 PM
Like when people were playing one of his classical songs, maybe?
No, no. I'm thinking I read about him in a section of the ACT. In fact, now I'm pretty sure that's where I heard his name before.

YDload 08-02-2005 10:31 PM

Steerpike, have you heard of the Pittsburgh-area band called Past Pluto? They're pretty cool, almost like RHCP or Jane's Addiction with a female singer (i.e. good bass player :)).

http://www.pastplutomusic.com/Past_Pluto_Website_New/photoslive.html.html

Those are some live photos. As you can see, the singer is quite attractive, and the bass player is tall and weird as usual :(
I'm going to be the next Rudess.

Hi Jom. lolol
Oh, you're hysterical.
I think we should make a motion to get Med local'd, or super'd so he can do R&M and A&I.

Either that or Riva gets promoted. I think they'll be more willing to give it to Med though since he Mods Sputnik already.
I was mentioning it to another mod (I included you, though, along with Jason. For serious.), and he said that he doesn't think Jim will see the need for it, especially with Bartender helping around.

Of course, if there's enough support backing it, they might consider it.

EDIT: By "it," they meant leaning towards Med.
I have a flute
Fixed.

I'm much, much better at trumpet than I am at guitar and the keys.
*black woman voice*

YOU KNOW WHAT I'M HIGH ON?

I'M HIGH ON JE-SUS!
Hahahaha, this cracked me up.

Growing up in the Detroit area, there are a lot of Baptist churches. I wouldn't be surprised if this was said in them, complete with the "Awww no!"s, "Preach it, Reveren'!"s, and "I love Lahd Je-Sus!"es.
But Jesus, God, they're the same things aren't they?
Not exactly, but a reasonable guess. Let me know if I'm supposed to explain or something.

FTR: I didn't really get the gist of the drug-using God. But maybe it's because I worked a long day and I'm not getting the joke.

FTR: I think it's stupid to form opinions on people and/or things without experiencing 'em first. But hey, that's just me.

Sup to all.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-02-2005 10:34 PM

That would stand to reason, RCA. On the PSAT, there were little bits about interesting people throughout the godforsaken test. Crap, that test was painful. :-/

Lunch 08-02-2005 10:36 PM

The real SAT is 12 times worse than the PSAT.

Hoo-ah! (Al Pacino voice a la Scent of a Woman) 7K posts.

Tell me about it! I think I walked out of there with five headaches.

Kingofdudes 08-02-2005 10:38 PM

The ACT is the retarded brother of the SAT. Im glad im in an ACT area :D

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-02-2005 10:38 PM

Yeah, and now there's a freaking essay section. At least I like writing.

I did exceptionally bad on the PSAT because that morning, me and my dad were fighting and stuff, so my knuckles were tired from opening a can of whoop-as on him.

Eh, she's okay. Though the drummer and guitarist remind me of old classmates of mine, and the bassist looks like he could be a long-lost brother of mine.

I'll look into them some time.

Gotta love Mississippi. We can take it all four years of high school too, to see how much money we can get for college. :D

Moses 08-02-2005 10:45 PM

The drummer looks like the guy, Chad, from Chapelles show when they did "Mad Real World"

Ghetto chick:This is where people start getting real
White guy Chad: Mad Real

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-02-2005 10:46 PM

My cousin and I coined the term mad sick.

/is white than this white guy Chad

EDIT: It occured to me- Do you think that animals perceive humans to all look alike? Look at cows, they all look the same, but they can probably differentiate between one another via black and white spots, but we basically consider them to all look the same, correct? Well, do you think animals think all humans look alike?

Late night thoughts with The Doc.
