Ah, Toolband.com has a new flash intro with the 30second 'Vicarious' clip playing...it's cool.

I'm pretty sure most of Vicarious is in 5/4 with some over-the-bar figures.

I don't find it hard to believe, nor do I find it a problem, that an artist writes two songs with a simple rudiment and ambient sound as another.

This is the catchiest 7 minute+ song I've ever heard though. That's a good thing though. Catchy is not easy to do, especially when you're trying to put it on a Tool record.

Anyways, what did you guys think of justins bass in vicarious?

It stood out almost more than usual, which is really saying something. Sounded really good.

I thorougly enjoyed it which track did blair say he had a killer bass line in was it 10,000 days?

This song is becoming one of my favorites by them. I'm not going to try to hype the album up, but if this is one of the not so great tracks i'll be blown away.

Did she dance to the whole song? It would be funny to see a girl strip to Third Eye, or not...I don't know it's late :(.

Does anyone know the official release date for australia cause so far ive read 28th of april 29th of april and the 2nd of may any one confirm?

My conservative guess is that we will see it on the Monday (May 1st). I think the May 2nd date will hold overseas and if so we should get it the day before (as is the custom, why we get it early I dont know).

Ok call me late but I just got Vicarious.

Positives: 1) The tribal feel of it is insane; Danny is a god.
2) The bass is very sexy and prominent.
3) Maynard owns.

Negatives: 1) It flows well but I was disappointed to not hear Tool's trademark use of dynamics.
2) The riffs are too awkward and bizarre to enjoy the track the first time I heard it.

There's now the 30 second audio playing at the start. Thats about all thats changed though

I accidentally heard the clip when I went to check toolband this morning, but aside from that my goal of not hearing the full song before the release of the album stands.

You can count it out like that... doesn't seem right at all though. I guess just cause all the downbeats are misplaced.
Edit: I feel more comfortable counting the whole riff out in 40/8 :lol:
