Last semester I walked into my only final without having looked at the material for a week and my roommate (also in the class) was like "hey man sorry i was using the book (that we share) all week. i need to do well on this" and i was like it's cool dude, I don't care about this class.

then i aced the final and he got like a 90 or something =\

bipolarism is a borderline fake disease like depression
bipolarism is a borderline fake disease like depression
no it isn't

gmoneyguy 01-17-2008 10:20 PM
no it isn't
tis.

most mental disorders are.

edit: not a big one i'm only at the station another half an hour then i go to bed then i'm gone all weekend :p

publicastration 01-17-2008 10:21 PM

how aren't mental disorders diseases?

Apocalypticon 01-17-2008 10:22 PM

diseases are illness of body parts, the mind isn't a body part though. the brain is.

mind =/= brain

Niflheim II 01-17-2008 10:22 PM

speaking of mental disorders I watched 2 handicap kids go crazy outside today. One bald kid with downsyndrome starting running, jumping, clapping and yelling in circles around a rock then went on top of the rock and started talking to himself then some other kid was moving around in some sort of pattern while moving his legs and arms like he was skiing and then the short bus came and he started throwing punches and cheering like Rocky.

yeah vince im glad youve experienced the same ****ing home life as me

seriously ****ing tell more people their wrong based off of their lives that you havent even ****ing experienced, my family is seriously extremely ****ed up and i dont need some moderator who takes the internet too seriously and bans somebody for a year over spam telling me that its "fake"

Permanent Solution 01-17-2008 10:23 PM

not all abnormalities are diseases.

if people learned to accept things well within the range of normal human behavior those sorts of disorders wouldn't be considered diseases ithey only become so through an overly sterile society obsessed with normalcy and control

Txus 01-17-2008 10:24 PM

hey mappy, i love you

i am the robots 01-17-2008 10:25 PM

yeah but a mental issue where somebody is incredibly ecstatic one section and then beating the **** out of someone ten years his minor for no apparent reason is a bit more than an abnormality

something thatll take a happy family dinner to throwing the bible at somebody's face one second later is more than a ****ing abnormality

would you like to hear more about how "exaggerated" this "abnormality" is?

wait where did you make a point in there?

if you don't need this moderator that's cool it's not your perogative to choose.

edit: it's a socially constructed problem though not a disease. i'm not saying it's not a problem. sometimes it is. but it's not a disease.

i am the robots 01-17-2008 10:27 PM

im just saying shut the **** up because you have no ****ing place to tell me that bipolar disorder isnt ****ing anything

publicastration 01-17-2008 10:28 PM

Come on Vince, I'm a little bi polar, and even if it's technically not a disease, it sucks.

If you think it should be considered normal to be happy one day and extremely depressed the next than think that, but it's not shared by everyone.

gmoneyguy 01-17-2008 10:28 PM
diseases are illness of body parts, the mind isn't a body part though. the brain is.

ummm chemicals control thought. Thought is the internal interpretation of chemical process. Therefore, the mind = brain.

Permanent Solution 01-17-2008 10:28 PM

but i didn't say that you're overreacting and strawmanning so chill.

Calm down. I think he just meant technically it's not a disease per the meaning of the term.
