Even though it seems like we are the only two people who think that way.
In that case, I think it's best that we stick together on this Illmatic. If either of us shows the slightest sign of weakness, he must be slapped back to reason...for the good of the mankind (well, for the good of you and I anyways). |
RPGs are for nerds. That said I love them. I've even played a bit of D&D. RPGs are just really fun if you're into it. For instance, Ray, can you say you wouldn't enjoy an RPG where you were an athlete, for instance?
123
Even though it seems like we are the only two people who think that way.
I used to be really into them, until I realize what a waste of time they were. For instance, a couple of years ago I got Final Fantasy X for Hanukkah, and I was really hyped up, hearing so much good crap about it. I played it for like a month straight, only to find out that I wasn't even 1/20 of the way there. I then shut the game off, and I haven't played it since. NP Nas - The World is Yours |
No, I think RPGs are some of the most un-fun video games I have ever played, with the exception of computer-based adventure games such as Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (now THERE are some REAL puzzles, in addition to a kick-*** storyline with three alternate and totally different paths).
Oh yeah, bringing it back to 1993. :D EDIT: Lately I've been having the urge to horribly abuse my repping ability. In particular, by neg-repping every other star-holder and leaving no signature. Heh. That'd piss some people off. |
The first few gameboy games rocked for Pokemon...after that it had the same fate as the card game did with the tons upon tons of crappy unoriginal pokemon.
And the card game ruled as well, until Wizards of the Coast sold it to some crappy company and they ruined it all. Then they had to make tons of new crappy unoriginal named and shaped Pokemon to keep it going, yet all they was make it suck more. Also the artists for the card pictures are lazy now, since they just take the pokemon toy's or something and place them in some crappy landscape and take a picture of it and slap it on the card. /memories
Actually the newest versions are ownage (mostly cause they're rereleases gg). Also, FFV > life. |
I personally find RPG's to be fun as hell, but I don't have the time any more to play them, because they do suck up alot of time...
Online RPG's where you play with other people are by far the funnest since you get to interact with other people and do such other group activities on them. Also Final Fantasy games are games that I see that are interactive movies, since alot of the attraction of those are the story lines/music/characters etc etc. |
For instance, Ray, can you say you wouldn't enjoy an RPG where you were an athlete, for instance?
It would probably be very contrived and I have no idea how it would work, but I have to say a part of me is intrigued.
EDIT: Lately I've been having the urge to horribly abuse my repping ability. In particular, by neg-repping every other star-holder and leaving no signature. Heh.
I was just thinking of a system where it's like a more indepth game than what we currently have now, and only focuses on the main character more. I think it'd be really cool to be honest too, but I'm more pointing out that RPGs tend to be fantasy based, so I wouldn't expect you to be as into a game like that. |
l.o.l.
I wouldn't REALLY do that, Ray. Duh.
Yes, but the very thought of doing it shows how irresponsible everyone else with stars in. You didn't even earn them. |

I guess if I was actually serious it would work. Actually, the more I think about it the more I like it...holdouts, endorsement deals, posse coordination (you laugh, but have you ever seen an NFL or NBA player in public? They don't go anywhere alone), jail time or being taken to court for failing to pay child support (even though I doubt the NFL, NBA, or MLB would put their name on something that might create a bad "image" for them), off-season training (or lack thereof), etc. etc. Just imagine..."remember when your brother stabbed that guy outside of a nightclub? Gatorade just dropped you as a spokesman because of it" |
an RPG where you were an athlete, for instance?
That reminds me of this cartoon version of someones weird dream. There was a game based upon stalking a german sports star. I found it quite amusic, but I can't find the link for it now. btw zepfan did you ever get those protected wma's sorted out? |

Just imagine..."remember when your brother stabbed that guy outside of a nightclub? Gatorade just dropped you as a spokesman because of it"
I know...I'm not knowledgeable enough to make it, but god it'd make for a neat game. The intricacies of it are really neat, and in the end all RPGs exist for you to vicariously live as someone you couldn't actually be. In most cases it's an entirely alternate world, but for most people professional athleticism is an alternate world they couldn't enter. It would incorporate that and more. Sort of, I can't do anything with them because they're protected against burning too. If I could burn them I could get around it like I did with the 30 seconds to mars CD, but no can do :-\ |
I'm thinking of getting World of Warcraft tomorrow. Do you guys think it's worth it? I think it's pretty hefty at 50 bucks and a monthly payment. my friends say it's loads of fun and I watched em' play for a bit and it looked pretty cool.

The Cockpit Bar in Leeds. I basically went round the back, because the entrance was shut, saw some people waiting around, Half the band arrived in a van and I had a bit of a chat and ticket-signing. |

Did you happen to take any pictures?
Unfortunately not, but When I get my digital camera this week, I'll take a photo of the signed ticket... Their website hasn't been changed in forever and it says that "Iced Earth will not be touring until summer 2005" Well that's kind of wrong, seeing as how summer 2005 is over. |
If you read some things on the site, I don't think Jon likes the Internet much
|
So, the wedding ruled. The local rock cover band played and i danced all the way through, and this dude who was even more drunk than me fell over the stage monitors, knocking them over, but everyone laughed it off and they kept playing.
Then i went into town in my shirt and tie thingy, went to all the clubs and had a blast. Good night. |

As to Arcturus, both. I like them a lot and I know where to look for tabs.
Too bad the Nightmare Heaven tab didn't have the solo! :upset: :p Not like I'm good enough to play the majority of it anyways, though. I loved the Pokémon games on game boy. And the Pixies and Arcturus are two of my favourite bands.

Discussing Pokemon in here? C'mon guys!
Let's talk about something remotely cool, like pizza with chicken and onions. |
So I bought a fridge that you can operate from a distance.
