i finally checked out obscura the other week, i hadn't heard it before though i'd been listening to gorguts for a while. i dunno why a lot of you guys are hating on it, it's ****ing awesome.

It's because the people on here who were hating on it have a really one-dimensional idea of what makes for good death metal.

I don't get it, because most variations of the genre are awesome, except like, slam death and the majority of brutal dm (but good brutal dm is awesome).

Listening to Nihilist for the first time in forever. Forgot how elite they are.

This is closer to hardcore than any deathcore, lol.

Probably something to do with how much I love it.

i found Vengeful and Martial Barrage from a quick look on my RYM map


and yeah, psychostasia is really good

I don't listen to these bands really at all but: Kataklysm, Martyr, Neuraxis, Spasme, Devin Townsend (more like heavy prog) and Augury are all somewhat noteworthy

People were raving about Martial Barrage in DMC, but the people in there who's opinions I agree with were kind of meh about them, so idk.
