Oh yea I know he was a good bassist, but he still was hazed pretty badly buy the guys. I'm surprised he got to do all those basslines on the Black Album like The God the Failed, Holier than Thou, My Friend of Misery, etc.

Lars,James and Kirk just didn't handle Cliffs death correctly.
They needed to realize that he was gone and wasn't coming back.
But they've gotten over it by now Im sure.

Cliff rules nothing to say about that but I listened to Jason`s solo & he`s not bad at all,but let me ask you a question.Have u ever read a cover of any metallica`s album? If u have read how many songs he wrote.Every song wrote James & Lars with Kirk.Mostly just James & Lars

Well I think they got over Jason being the new guy too. I think once they let him sing Seek and Destroy it went uphill for the four of them.

It was more Lars and James that didn't handle Cliff's death well. The three of them were a band before Kirk was in it. Kirk did ok it seemed, but like Aw3someman said, I don't think Kirk could hate anyone. They're ok with Rob too, they love Rob.

Did you see SKOM? I think they said that the reason Jason quit is because he didn't feel he was getting out his creativity. He was doing a ton of cool basslines and such but like you mentioned he didn't write any lyrics, at least ones used on albums.

Um dude.This isn't like Cliff vs Jason.
I really don't care how many songs he helped write...even Cliff had an average of 3 per album...
Jason was just helping them out.He didn't have to play bass with them,but he was a huge fan and was estatic when he was asked.

Actually I don`t agree with u that he didn`t write any lyrics.Because as I was sayin about "Ulrich`s diary",he wrote that they couldn`t stand Jason so they didn`t let him be as good as he could be.

Not to start a fight or anything, but I thought that St Anger was an improvement on Load/Reload, except for the no solos, but I doubt Jason would have stopped that.

EDIT: Also, Rob's live bass solos are the shizz.

I agree with Father Jack. Rob is very awesome, plus though I don't really like St. Anger, it was better than Load and Reload.

I'll upload the one he did at download 2004.

I like Reload album but St.Anger is to much nu metal.It`s OK but when I listen to guitar I`missing Kirk.Without solo it isn`t the same & drums produce to much echo.

Kirk kinda sits back and plays whatever. But with St.Anger they went in with no songs written and kinda just busted it out. They wanted to try something new.

I respect them so much for releasing St Anger!
They knew it was a risk, being such a big band and having so much success with their previous albums, it would've been too easy to make the same album over again, and keep the fans happy.
But no, they did what they truely wanted to do. Make music that gave them a buzz again :)

But maybe they did it at the wrong time.So many things happened to them but after 2 year time-out they could do better than this.They wrote St. Anger in flash and promot it like it`s coming from space & that is a reason it didn`t pass.Fans wre expecting too much

They've been in the studios for a month+ now. I'm hoping for a minimum of Reload, but I'm not expecting AJFA, and I don't find it wise to get your hopes up to AJFA because chances are it won't be.
