i think meatplow rec'd Arizmenda to me before. i have it downloaded, need to listen to that soon

Juddybear 09-20-2010 07:17 AM

a couple of the black twilight circle bands are p good

DBlitz 09-20-2010 08:56 AM

sort of feel gay for liking Liturgy as much as i do but W/E

didn't even know how pretentious the guys behind it were until recently. they wrote a book on black metal theory and how they are 'transcendent' black metal lol

rasputin 09-20-2010 09:28 AM

yeah arizmenda is probably the best of the black twilight circle, the other bands are decent but not really memorable

yeah they're total fags, their drummer plays drums for dan deacon

their press release is specifically why i avoided actually reviewing it. it was all that stuff about how unique they are but the album is just some guy playing drum rolls the either time.

DBlitz 09-20-2010 12:31 PM

idk i enjoy the album, but i wasn't aware of all that hype and stuff

Tyler 09-20-2010 12:40 PM

I'm not sure there is much hype outside of their own ridiculous claims.

DBlitz 09-20-2010 05:57 PM

oh, well i don't know if there was hype or not but what you said in your previous post made it seem like there was

Aakon_Keetreh 09-20-2010 06:02 PM

TheSpirit 09-20-2010 08:42 PM

New Enslaved rulessssssssssssss

Aakon_Keetreh 09-20-2010 08:45 PM

yeah i have a few of their albums, doesnt really do much for me these days

TheSpirit 09-20-2010 08:47 PM

Imo this is by far their best; a perfect combo of their black metal days and their more progressive material.

Juddybear 09-20-2010 08:59 PM

listening to nacht for the millionth time, still love it. nacht i is one of my favorite black metal songs ever

Aakon_Keetreh 09-20-2010 09:02 PM

yeah its amazing. down right evil

Juddybear 09-20-2010 09:07 PM

i love the ambient part and how it builds up to part with the guitars, and i love how right before the guitar part starts the keyboard stops and all you hear is wind and a wolfs howl, chilling yet soothing, and then CHAOS

EDIT: combat is mad underrated

Aakon_Keetreh 09-20-2010 11:26 PM

Im trying to find the remastered version of Inquisition - Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult

anyone help? i cant find it

Angmar 09-20-2010 11:28 PM

original version is fine

Aakon_Keetreh 09-20-2010 11:29 PM
original version is fine
okay mr fan boy. i still wanna hear

Juddybear 09-21-2010 09:42 AM

does anybody else like combat? northwind and aryan spirit of war are both very very good, and not just for nsbm, shit just rules

gregulus 09-21-2010 04:33 PM

inquisition could be so fucking good, but i'm still not sold on the vocals.

Aakon_Keetreh 09-21-2010 04:58 PM

i used to hate the vox but now i love them

Undead 09-21-2010 08:12 PM

looks like an interesting band...
whats a good starter album?

Aakon_Keetreh 09-21-2010 08:14 PM

Into the infernal regions of the ancient cult

Juddybear 09-21-2010 08:36 PM

Morumbar 09-22-2010 03:57 AM

Heiling some Aura Noir atm.

Morumbar 09-22-2010 04:24 AM

Not really black metal, but idk where else to post this:
Pacific Northwest dark metal legends AGALLOCH have completed work on their fourth full-length entitled “Marrow Of The Spirit”, the follow-up to 2006’s “Ashes Against The Grain”.
gaaaayyyyy, mebbe get a fake id

Morumbar 09-22-2010 09:02 AM

Simply can't imagine Agalloch releasing a shitty album anytime in at least the next 5 years or so. It'll be amazing, I just know it.

Glad I got to see Agalloch last year. It'll probably be a while before they return to Holland.

Scatologist 09-22-2010 09:04 AM

they already released 3 i think the odds r against them

TheSpirit 09-22-2010 09:43 AM

Why is it they'll go to Holland but not even visit their own East Coast

Morumbar 09-22-2010 10:32 AM

Idk, maybe a lot of clubs in Europe are very eager to book a band like Agalloch and clubs in the US don't realize how many people such an event would attract (eg. how much money they could be making).

masscows 09-22-2010 10:47 AM

I think they just aren't too keen on big tours, they all seem to have pretty busy professional and personal lives outside of the band

I know they've been to like, NYC and Florida a few times they must figure if they're going to touch any bases on the East Coast those are the ones to go to.

Aakon_Keetreh 09-22-2010 10:50 AM

pretty excited for new album def

Angmar 09-22-2010 10:57 AM

Don says that they'll play anywhere as long as they get their flights and accommodations paid for, that's probably why they play overseas so much.

Juddybear 09-22-2010 11:26 AM

gonna dl ashes against the grain again and see if i still think its dumb
