Jom: 'tis a nice room indeed. It may not be very big but at least it's decent

Jake: Yes, Irn-Bru travels well and I have more. I also have to share kitchen + bathroom but I'm not really bothered. I just need to find someone who'll cook for me.

Leah: The new Arsis is awsome, and of course my guitar. I would'nt leave home without it.

I share a flat with people which has ten rooms in it. So far all - seven out of ten - of the people I've met have been pretty cool so this looks to be a good year. The only problem is they drink so slow and put next to them I look like an alcoholic :upset:

Bartender 09-17-2005 01:10 PM

Cool. Are any of them there for the same course as you? Or do any of them have decent taste in music? :)

More likely I suppose you just might not know yet.

I meant to reply to your post as well

'Tender: Yes, I am a lucky bastard

None of them are on exactly the same course as me, though they all seem to be slightly similar. Music - a few of them say they like everything though I doubt that they really do. I'l find out soon, hopefully. I'm not all that bothered though, to be honest, because my main fear was that I would be stuck with a bunch of assholes, and I'm not. One of them is a Scouser. All I need now is a Geordie, Welsh and Irish person and all of my favourite accents would be covered. Conveniantly there are three spaces left, so all I can do is hope.

Bartender 09-17-2005 01:23 PM

I had a scouser last year. I wonder who I'll get for my flatmates this year. I know at least three of my old ones have moved out (including the two I really liked).

I almost want them all to be bastards, because then I'll have more time/reason to concentrate on my work (the amount of time I wasted last year doing nothing - watching DVDs, playing PS2, drinking, etc - with my old flatmates was ridiculous). Of course, the downside then is that I'm living with a bunch of bastards :-/ So I don't really know what I want.

Cain 09-17-2005 01:39 PM

Well, I was going to take my girlfriend out to a nice restaurant in NYC tonight for our anniversary, but she's been sick the past few weeks, and she might have a serious infection in her throat or bronchitis, or something similar. So that's a bust. I just canceled the reservation, and now I'm bummed out. :(

But what else could be done? She's ill. I just was excited, because I thought it would be a cool special thing to do. Maybe I'll take her out for her birthday.

Jom 09-17-2005 01:46 PM

Well, it was a nice gesture, for what it's worth.

How far away until her birthday?

Heh, is that varsity team? My varsity team is 1-1 so far, and the freshmen team is 1-1 too. Not a bad start, considering our rep as a serious team.

To anyone else in the US, do you guys have Togo's, or is it just a West Coast thing? They have some of the best sandwiches, period. I just had the Sicilian chicken, and ZOMG it was incredible.

Cook for her.

That's what I'm gonna do for my girlfriend on our anniversary/her birthday (they're so close together I can just combine them both for one gesture...fortuitousness+++).

Speaking of her, I spent the night with her last night :) I always like doing that.

This implies he can cook well. If he can though that's definitely the way to go. Girls love that from what I've seen.

Haha, that is fortuitous. My gf's birthday is 2 months before mine to the date, and that's good because I'm terrible with dates. I had to ask her when we started going out like a week after we did :-\

I spent an hour and a half talking to her last night in the end, plus all the shorter calls throughout the day. It was cool. Plus I got her letter today and it was entirely awesome :)

I've met my fair share of incredibly stupid people at my university as well.

I should have tried getting into an Ivy League school, to "diversify" their student body.

"Hey, man, what did you do in high school? I got a 5.8 GPA with a 36 on the ACT and a 1590 on the SAT."

"Uh, I had a 3.8something unweighted GPA, and I didn't take the SAT."

"Ugh, don't talk to me, you stupidhead."

Of course, I would have had to take the SAT to apply there, heh.

Gah, ugly people being together in general is just disturbing. I can think of three couples at my school who could probably win The World's Ugliest Human Award. And they're always all over each other at school. Every day. All the time. :upset:

There's this one guy who should have probably graduated some time in the 90's who always makes out with his "girl"friend in front of my history class. He probably weighs somewhere around 250, and he has a complete lack of personal hygene. I mean, we're talking perhaps a semi-annual shower here. :-/

Grotesque!

I got into one, just couldn't afford it. However, I had a 3.3 unweighted and 31 or something on the ACT, so meh. See, I am stupid :)

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-17-2005 05:09 PM

When you say unwieghted, do you mean without factoring in your AP classes or something? I have a 3.6 right now, but I'm taking 2 AP classes this year. I think I have A's in both of them, so this would bring my wieghted grade up to a 4.0 or so, right?

Kingofdudes 09-17-2005 05:11 PM

ACT >>>> SAT The ACT is so easy.

Jom 09-17-2005 05:13 PM

I don't know what it means, my high school used unweighted GPAs :)

And no, I didn't take the SAT because:

a) I didn't need to
b) it wasn't required
c) taking it wouldn't have helped me in any way, I did well on the ACT
d) I didn't feel like it
e) all of the above

PS: grades in high school don't matter :p
