I didn't want to start a new thread for just a question and the seemed like the appropriate place to ask it. What genre do La Dispute and Touche Amore belong to? Is it hardcore? Post-hardcore (If so, which other bands could be post-hardcore?)? Screamo, even? Screamo doesn't seem likely as they don't really scream so much as they shout.

Anyway, thanks in advance!

witchxrapist 10-10-2011 03:43 PM

kind of emo

christsimpson 10-10-2011 05:26 PM

they are failed faux emo scenecore bands. failed in the sense that they are not popular. also they suck. listen to Navio Forge and Native Nod instead.

witchxrapist 10-10-2011 06:41 PM

they're not popular?

dude, both bands sell out shows all the time, like in pretty large venues

Juddybear 10-10-2011 07:11 PM

Looking for a record...

Hey, not sure if someone already asked about this, but does anybody know the name of a band that released only one 10" in the 90s of 4 songs? I downloaded it years ago but have since lost the tracks. I think it had a brown cover, and one song mentioned fields with aliens in them or something weird like that. The second track title also might have been about trains. Thanks for your help!

How do they suck?
I understand why someone wouldn't like them, but saying a band sucks is all opinion, musically they're both pretty talented.

Juddybear 10-23-2011 06:29 PM

hes a hater

witchxrapist 10-23-2011 07:44 PM

i still am not quite getting how unpopular bands are selling out shows all the time

Juddybear 10-23-2011 07:46 PM

its just one of those things

kennymccormick 10-23-2011 09:44 PM

I wouldn't really call them unpopular anymore.. They're really well known compared to other bands that play that style. In my opinion, at least.

Yo, is this the right place to ask for the essentials from 2k11?

cobert 10-24-2011 05:59 AM

I think the only "emo" record I even listened to from 2011 was Algernon Cadwallader - Parrot Flies. It rules.

christsimpson 10-24-2011 06:31 AM

that sucks listen to Lumber Lung, Beau Navire, syn*error, The Whoopass Girls, rest of my life, Snowing & Spraynard

Eighty8Percent 10-24-2011 11:08 AM

Seeing Loma tonight. Would it be super lame to bring a 12" to get it signed by them?
