What's STAR testing?

It's standardized testing that all schools in America do, testing on English, History, Science, and Math. And the school boards look at the over all scores of the tests. The schools with the highest average score gets the most money, and the ones with the lowest get the least. So it doesn't hurt my grade in school at all, it's just to help rank the school up high so the schools can get more money, and there be less teacher lay-offs, stuff like that.

It's just a major annoyance.

What if the teachers are good but the students are just dumb? Do they still get laid off?? I see some flaws with this system...

You shouldn't really stress over that. I mean, it doesn't even affect your grades.

Yes that's a complaints that many of the teachers have about the STAR tests..

Easter holidays have just started here. Basically, there's no difference for me. It's kind of sad to see other Uni students packing and going home. I hate it that I have nowhere to go to. I'm stuck here eternally :upset:

I started with Traveller and Twilight of the Idols was my second one. Any album would work really :)

if i get worse grades, i end up at a uni about 150 miles away, which is still a great place, but not quite as good a uni.
plus, it's not so much in the countryside. i'm not a huge fan of cities, i like to be out in the open.

I live at home too, uni is 20 minutes away or so. It's not too bad, at least I live in a good city, I don't think I'd like living in a village.

I live in the same city as JCU. It's a 30 minute drive from my house on a good day.

I go to school about 2 and a half hours away. It's nice but sometimes I wonder how much it would ease the transition when moving in and out if I went to school somewhere closer. Class registration today!

school's 40 minutes by bus, or 20 / 25 if i drive.
so, tomorrow i am going to see Scary Movie 4. i predict it will be crap, just like Scary Movie 3. although the giant ipod part could be entertaining, from what i've heard.
