My favorite Paul McCartney song has been All My Loving.

Walrus Gumboot 07-05-2005 01:31 PM
If I knew how to record on the computer I would. I really like putting distortion on the guitar for this song, it sounds interesting. I also sometimes give the guitar Clapton's famous 'woman tone' and it sounds amazing.
The simplest way I know how is to get a little microphone (should be less than 10$ at Radio Shack, little Piece of crap thing), plug it intp the mic jack, and then record of Windows Sound Recorder (Start>accesories>entertainment)
Then I am guessing if you save it and we sent it to the right people, they could put them on the same track. If I get a new computer its going to be so tricked out with recording software *dreams*
From Revolver. It's the 10th track. Listen to it. It's beautiful.
Yes, I do like that song. Track 10 is one of the one's I can't remember the name to. But like I said before, I like everything song on Revolver (even if I can't name them all yet)

I also like the little trumpet riff on this song.

It always makes me a little depressed

magicbus 07-05-2005 03:28 PM

I can see why "Helter Skelter" would drive you to kill.

(I also listened to the White Album on my trip and like all the songs on Disc 1, now I have to listen to disc 2)

It's actually a French Horn. Paul McCartney hummed the solo he wanted for the song to his producer and he transcribed it. But when the hornist looked at it, the extremely high note at the end of the solo was technically impossible to hit on the instrument. Some how, he managed to play it though.

/factoid

Well I'll be!

And Your Bird Sing is very fun to play on guitar, even if I can't play it as fast as the song yet.

Manson was a weird guy with a lot of fucked up ideas.

Anyways, talking about Helter Skelter, that's a great jam song. I play with my friend and we just go on jamming. It's awesome.
What is everyone's thought on the song For No One.

I find it to be McCartney's best love song, ever. It's so short, and it's so perfect. I love it. It's my current theme song. =D

... BUMP!
For No One is an amazing song, as is every song on Revolver.

slowhand 07-06-2005 02:01 PM

Man, I just met another Harrison fan. It's so awesome. Now I have the desire to get every Harrison solo work. And I'm going to do it.

=D

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 07-07-2005 10:01 PM

!!!! Wow, I'm happy to see so many people who appreciate For No One. It's not mentioned much, but it's one of my absolute favorites. It made me very happy when I went through a bad breakup. I also told my ex to listen to the song, but I don't know if he ever did.

I don't think Beatles For Sale sucked...I like it more than With the Beatles and Please Please Me anyway.

I only have Brainwashed. Which is good. Any suggestions?

All Things Must Pass

BludgeonySteve 07-08-2005 08:51 PM

o yeas :)

DeusExMachina 07-09-2005 10:52 AM

I definitely need Harrison solo work. I have one studio album, plus the live in Japan 2 disc set, but that's it.

For No One is one of my three favorite songs from Revolver, along with I'm Only Sleeping and Eleanor Rigby. It's impossible to pick from those three for me.

What has happened to this beautiful thread?

Maaaaaaad bumpage.

To get conversation started again... how about them awkward silences?

Personally I'd have to have Tomorrow Never Knows in there too.

DeusExMachina 07-11-2005 06:19 PM

Tomorrow Never Knows is good, but not my favorite.

I don't think that's so great of a conversation starter, Deus :p

You know that Rate the Albums: Metallica thread?

We should do something similar to that except with the Beatles...

except it'll be hard because it's like choosing between children.

Except their not our children.

BludgeonySteve 07-12-2005 12:23 PM

That would be a great thread. Especially for the Beatles who have so many great albums.

DeusExMachina 07-12-2005 12:25 PM

I don't think I remember that Metallica thread. What is this?

BludgeonySteve 07-12-2005 12:26 PM

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363131

It was on the 2nd page.

DeusExMachina 07-12-2005 12:30 PM

Ahh... I was too lazy to look for it. I guess it popped up when I was gone. But yeah, we should definitely do that.

DeusExMachina 07-14-2005 09:55 AM

Who else is going to see Paul McCartney on his US tour?

/thinly veiled bump attempt

ATM 07-14-2005 09:58 AM

Not me :D When is he playing in our area?

MBS 07-14-2005 10:30 AM

Oooh! Oooh!

*raises hand*

I'm gonna go see him in November at the MGM Grand.

Jacaranda 07-14-2005 10:31 AM

How much were tickets for him? In generality.

Woodstock 07-14-2005 10:32 AM

I want to see him so bad. :(

MBS 07-14-2005 10:45 AM
How much were tickets for him? In generality.
Let me put it this way. My parents said I wasn't gonna get a birthday present for a few years.

DeusExMachina 07-14-2005 11:04 AM

Tickets were ridiculously expensive. I got (relatively) cheap ones, and that's my birthday right there. But, he's coming to down literally the day after my birthday. It's going to be so awesome.

Dottore 07-14-2005 12:20 PM

Hey,
I didn't want to open a new thread for my little problem, and I hope you can help me. :) I just bought "Paul McCartney - Back in the world live" and want to have it on my Hard disk (so I do with all CD's that I buy). So I put the CD in my PC and see there is something like a stupid player and you can't rip the files. Did anybody of you solve this problem ? It really anoys me...

Thx

Woodstock 07-14-2005 12:26 PM

It's a copyright protection system. But, I don't know how to get around them.

Nero can probably do it, but Nero costs money. I'm sure you can find a way to rip them if you just search around on the net awhile, but I for one don't know how to do it. Good luck.

I am. This will make my sixth or seventh show since 1976.

magicbus 07-16-2005 01:00 PM

Today I got a Sgt. Pepper's poster, the Making Of Sgt. Pepper's book, and George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass".

That means I have more Beatles posters than any other band right now.

Woodstock 07-16-2005 01:20 PM

Could you please upload All Things Must Pass?

magicbus 07-16-2005 01:21 PM

I still need to rip it, but I will when it's done :thumb:

Thanks, there is no way I'm paying $30 for a special edition I don't want.

Walrus Gumboot 07-16-2005 02:27 PM

Wow I have been gone since forever and there is only one page

..so I flew over Liverpool while I was gone

And I am also seeing PM in Boston

Idyll 07-16-2005 03:02 PM

This is sort of Beatle related...

I saw a Beatle tribute band in Manchester when i was working the other day called The Beatle Maniacs and they sounded so much better than Macca himself performing those songs plus their whole sound was spot on.

Has anyone seen any beatle coverbands?
