Can anyone explain this?

Why should the material on previous ablums be excluded because of a label change? They are still Opeth's songs, Opeth can play them in concert, and the old label didn't write their music. It only makes sense that the music would be the choice of the band regardless of what label they are signed to.

So now if they do another DVD, sorry everything pre-Roadrunner!

PS- 47 more day until the new album.
i know, some record deal and companys are very moronic and a lot of bands get pushed around too much by their labelers. they should be able to play whatever they want. and thanks for the reminder about the new album. i forgot it is coming out so soon :thumb:

The Cynic 07-16-2005 11:51 AM

did anyone else see them at Sounds Of the Underground?

the2stranger 07-16-2005 12:03 PM

no, did you?

Roadrunner will probably buy the rights to their older material.

Skit 07-16-2005 01:58 PM

Can anyone reccomend me some songs for someone just getting into opeth?
I've only heard Demon Of The fall and The Drapery Falls and the both sound amazing :D

I'd prefare songs with more "singing" than screaming but Im not too fussed either way.

Thanks guys :thumb:
no, did you?
Yeah. it sucked though because we got rained on so they had to cut the time off and they only got to play Demon of the Fall and Deliverence. But it was still worth it because I got a Ghost Reveries shirt and pics with them.

Were you at the Dallas show too?! Haha...there was a motley little group of us Opeth fans there. Does anyone know where the hell Martin Lopez was?! Gene Hoglan ended up having to sub for him...he did amazingly, of course, because he's the best metal drummer on the planet, but I'm a huge fan of Martin and was bummed out that I didn't get to see him play (AND that they didn't get to do any Dam nation stuff :( ).

Grey Incision 07-18-2005 03:52 AM
Anyonw listen to my half-assed growl?:upset:
Yes.

The sound quality of your voice recorder was poor and I could not understand the words at all... but other than that, pretty good I guess??

Oh, and I'm pretty sure you were playing that guitar riff wrong.

Nah, I'm actually from Austin. That's right: I made a 4 hour drive and waited for like 9 hours to see 20 minutes of Opeth. I'm THAT hardcore. :p

PIGS(1 different one) 07-18-2005 01:10 PM

Does anyone have the official release of the grand conjuration yet?

It's on the Roadrunner site but you need to be a Street Team member to download it, and they aren't excepting new members to it.

Det_Nosnip 07-18-2005 04:01 PM

Argh. Well, I'm sure it's all over P2P by now.

That depends what other albums do you have by them?

Daven 07-18-2005 09:45 PM

i'd get deliverance

AA-12 07-18-2005 09:47 PM

I learned most of the grand conjuration today on guitar. Fun song.

Det_Nosnip 07-18-2005 10:04 PM

Did you do it by that low quality sample we have? Must have been hard to follow!

bucket 07-18-2005 10:20 PM

Actually, there's already a powertab of it

PIGS(1 different one) 07-19-2005 06:29 AM

Here is the official release of The Grand Conjuration.

You need real player to play it.

Blanka Flip 07-19-2005 11:18 AM

Was anyone at the Orlando show? I was so sad... Opeth's sound went haywire... For somereason Martin was using Jon Miller's head and cab (DevilDriver's). You couldn't hear Mike or Per, and Martin M's amp was feeding back horribly the whole time... All you could hear was Gene Hoglan's bass drums... Still just seeing them in person was worth the ticket price!

Det_Nosnip 07-19-2005 11:55 AM

Ugh...that's terrible! :(

Listening to TGC now....the intro sounds kinda lame, but the rest of the song rules.

Whoa, holy ****...does anyone else hear that 2nd guitar line going under the heavy syncopated part (with the growling)? Whoa, I even hear what sounds like maybe a Djembe in there...?! Oooooh....and then the synths come in as well.....this ****ing RULES!!!

grr, why doesn't realplayer work for me
is anyone able to rip this to a regular mp3?
very please? :D

PIGS(1 different one) 07-19-2005 12:19 PM

Some people at the official Opeth forums have it ripped but aren't releasing it.

I think you just need to Update Real Player or wait a few minutes for it to connect.

AA-12 07-19-2005 12:20 PM

I'll upload the mp3 in a few minutes.

suspect 07-19-2005 01:37 PM

Fuck, Mikael's growls just keep getting better and better. 1:59, oh so evil.

relliK 07-19-2005 06:01 PM

I have the newest version of Real One and it's not working.

Can someone upload it please?
