I never said I liked Bodom's lyrics. I think they are utter crap if you ask me, but I can't hear them so I don't really care. They are pretty much just punk lyrics, a genre of music I don't care for.

In all honesty tho, I think lyrics are maybe 5% of the importance of a song. If a song is amazing and has bad lyrics, it's still got an A in my book.

Ironically, Corey Taylor seems to take himself pretty seriously. And yet, Alexi has all but admitted he just writes the lyrics in the studio while the others are laying down their individual tracks.

Yeah It makes me feel much better that Alexi doesn't try with his lyrics. If you tried and made those coughcoreytaylorcough then that's kinda sad.

I really like them, but I have to admit that when they're bad, they're awful.

What stuff of theirs have you heard? They've gone through so many styles that even you might like some tracks.

We want to be in a power metal band, just we seem to have become a Metllica cover band without noticing, which pisses me off royally as I don't even like Metallica, but both the guitarists and bassist are fanboys...

Me and the guitarist of my band would like to play PM too but we have a crappy drummer and a singer who would like to do pop-song stuff.

Our guitarists and bassists are also opposed to the idea of having a keyboradist

I'm not familiar with Ayreon - I should get a track or two now that you mentioned them - but I find Avantasia quite good cheesy power. In fact I dont think that they're similar to Ayreon since Ayreon are supposed to be prog. Do you want me to send you any tracks?
