oh yea and anyone living in toronto have you been listening to kim mitchel's shift on Q107.1? (radio station)
No I mean Kim Mitchell. He plays music :)

Rock and roll mentioned BTO in his post that i quoted, i was adding to his.

Calagary has Q107.3. Good radio station but their theme is kinda lame. Also they play too much kiss and ac/dc. Steve Van Zant (sp?) has a danm good show on it.

BludgeonySteve 08-14-2004 11:02 PM
I was actually referring to CSNY
i haven't heard that one :) I think i'll check it out if I can manage to download it ;)

Lithium2112 08-14-2004 11:04 PM

GundamX 08-14-2004 11:05 PM

I only listen to classic rock, new music is horrible. If i had a time machine i would go back to 1969 and live in the 70's :] Led Zeppelin is my number one fav, second fav being Black Sabbath

BludgeonySteve 08-14-2004 11:06 PM

He's also a canadian musician who kicks a load of *** :)

Lithium2112 08-14-2004 11:07 PM

BludgeonySteve 08-14-2004 11:08 PM

Lithium2112 08-14-2004 11:09 PM

yea, its nice he's been playing stuff other than ac/dc and 3 led zeppelin songs

Lithium2112 08-14-2004 11:11 PM
your missing out
I live in London , so i don't really have a choice.

RockAndRoll 08-15-2004 09:10 AM

 jethro tull may be coming to london (I think they are but I'm not sure).

Against Miik! 08-15-2004 10:27 AM

Good news, for me. I'm going to see the Allman Brothers, 38 Special and Skynryd, and Yes and Dream Theater this summer.

BludgeonySteve 08-15-2004 11:08 AM

So is this like a skynard cover band or something? How many of the originals aren't dead?

Against Miik! 08-15-2004 11:19 AM

Hey i'm making a classic rock mix. I got some songs goin, but what should I put on there?

BludgeonySteve 08-15-2004 11:30 AM

Anyone else think that this being a "classic rock" thread really limits us? I mean we can't really talk about stuff from the 90s, or country or motown. Just sort of 60s and 70s rock.

Bummer.

I don't really care. Whats better than 60s and 70s rock?

BludgeonySteve 08-15-2004 11:38 AM

Nothing really, just there's a lot of recent rock and roll that's good. Maybe we can start the recent classic rock thread or something.

Against Miik! 08-15-2004 11:47 AM

I've always thought of bands like AC/DC and GNR as classic rock, if thats what you mean.

BludgeonySteve 08-15-2004 11:55 AM

Yeah.

:)

Get Blue oyster cult- don't fear the reaper for your list. Now that's a dang fine song :)

RockAndRoll 08-15-2004 11:56 AM

We could talk about it some here, they're not going to come in and shut us down for it.

magicbus 08-15-2004 03:16 PM
Hey i'm making a classic rock mix. I got some songs goin, but what should I put on there?
Layla. Always.

Anyways, I might see Skynyrd and .38 Speciall too (I'd like to at least), but how long has Yes been touring? And do you know if they're coming to Detroit?

RockAndRoll 08-15-2004 03:50 PM

Box of rain should go on there, or friend of the devil.

RockAndRoll 08-15-2004 04:03 PM
Yeah...this thread is even in the rules as a good thread, so I doubt anyone minds really what happens in here. And I've always thought of classic rock as a style rather than something that happened in the 60s and 70s as well.
ya me too, just most of it happened in the 60's and 70's so ya.

BludgeonySteve 08-15-2004 04:28 PM

Yep. It's just some people don't think the 80s is classic rock. And I like the 80s.

RockAndRoll 08-15-2004 10:10 PM
Yep. It's just some people don't think the 80s is classic rock. And I like the 80s.
Nobody likes the 80s. :p just kidding. I think some is and some isn't.

the mighty zep 08-15-2004 10:18 PM

Great bands of the 80's as follows....

Rush
AC/DC
Kiss
Guns N Roses
Chili Peppers (though they werent very big)

and thats if they even started in the 80s

70s greats would take up two and a half pages.

RockAndRoll 08-15-2004 10:38 PM

Of that list I'd say only the first 3 I would consider classic rock though.

ryman457 08-15-2004 10:54 PM

i say my favorite classic rock song is cherry pie by warrant. its an awsome man, especially the video

LuckyIrish 08-15-2004 11:05 PM
Hey i'm making a classic rock mix. I got some songs goin, but what should I put on there?
Black Dog by Led Zeppelin. You can feel the groove from that song right in your soul.
Pinball Wizard by the Who. Because that deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball ;)

the mighty zep 08-15-2004 11:11 PM

I made a classic rock mix a while ago, came out pretty good. If you want the list, i can get it for you

You forgot The Cult...I don't care what anyone says, I like William Duffy on guitar.

magicbus 08-16-2004 07:51 AM

Is Ozzy Osbourne classic rock? Because Black Sabbath was, but he sounded different in the eighties.

Paranoidd 08-16-2004 08:00 AM

Yeah I'd call the Rhoads stuff classic rock.

They play it on my classic rock station in Toronto...*shrug*

magicbus 08-16-2004 08:57 AM

Ok.

They station is in general pretty lame. :amaze: still the best thing in radio today.

Paranoidd 08-16-2004 01:10 PM

Canadian content rules make it lame.

How many times a day do I have to hear The Kings??!

"switchin to glide....."

Makes me want to off myself.
