i got some possible internships lined up for next semester. gotta do some phone interviews and hopefully things will work out fine :)

ATM 12-19-2006 11:53 PM

Today i got to work with the guy who actually listens to good music. The stupid Slipknot kid was also working, and when we were talking about music he cuts in with I LIKE BOB MARLEY MY FRIEND"S UNCLE LIVES IN JAMACIA.

ATM 12-19-2006 11:55 PM

He was showing me some Grizzly Bear stuff, it was pretty nice.

ATM 12-19-2006 11:58 PM

Well what I heard was cool. And he had a Do Make Say Think shirt on, thought that was sweet. It's always weird to see other people talk about bands that you only ever seem to see online.

Electronic Wolf 12-20-2006 12:11 AM

One time I heard some dudes talking about how No Flashlight is Elvrum's best work. I wanted to slap them in the face.

Zmev 12-20-2006 12:37 AM

Pizza boys unite!

br3ad_man 12-20-2006 01:54 AM

I wonder if I should deliver pizza. It seems like it would be cool to drive around and listen to music for a job, but I get the feeling that it's not really like that.

I went to buy a DVD today and the guy who served me was wearing a Slint shirt. I told him cool shirt and he told me about when he saw them. I've complimented this guy on his shirts before. I think I'm making a friend.

No, that's pretty much it.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-20-2006 03:21 AM

i'm gonna put a resume in at a record store & a cinema and see if i get a job.
i need a job. one that i will like.

old men tend to talk to me about music and movies and it's slightly scary. i was looking at this movie and this old man popped out of nowhere and told me about how the sequels weren't as good.
scared the crap out of me.

There's some guy that works in my record store that always compliments my choice of CD's, it makes me feel special.

AlienEater 12-20-2006 07:24 AM

The people who work at my local CD store are idiots.

Electronic Wolf 12-20-2006 09:20 AM

One time I went into this little record store to pick up The Young Machines and the woman behind the counter said, "Oh, I love HSH so much. You should check out their new album The Past Presents the Future."

I cried because that album blows and HSH is one dude. But she had a decent rack so it wasn't that bad, you know. At least I got something out of it.

AndreTheHyena 12-20-2006 09:25 AM

Whenever I buy multiple cds at my favorite local cd store, I always try to buy the two or three most random cds just to get the attention of the cool, aging hipsters that work there, and to impress any cute girls that may be in earshot. I ain't even afraid to admit it, because I think everyone secretly hopes to get noticed by the "record store dudes and/or cute chick".

And I don't mean I buy random cds, I mean I buy cds that I've actually been wanting, I just mix it up so that I buy them in the weirdest combination possible, ie Lucero - Rebels, Rogues, and Sworn Brothers, The Game - The Documentary, Mudhoney - Piece of Cake.

Electronic Wolf 12-20-2006 09:34 AM

I know what you mean. Like whenever I'm at Amoeba I want the person ringing me up to be like, dude, you are so awesome. Sometimes I'll even walk up to the information desk to see if they have something even if I already know they have it just to impress some dudes.

Glitterati 12-20-2006 09:42 AM
nobody at my work listens to good music

it's OK though because there's a lot of good Motown classics playing all the time; either that or the Bee Gees or other stupid shit
at my job we watch kids movies. ive seen enough of superman returns and cars in the last two weeks to last me a lifetime.

np: fatboy slim

Zmev 12-20-2006 10:59 AM

The only cool music store around here is Amoeba in SF or Berkeley, though Wherehouse is good for used CDs.
