more people enjoy it than dislike it, so i wouldnt say its a bad mark as Bodom have an giant following. When bands do cover songs, part of the reason they choose to do them is to see how a song would sound if anther group wrote it..or to put a more modern twist to an old song that inspired the group. If they play it identically the same what the use of even covering it when we already have the original? It's a way to show you show praise to a group by adding in your own elements to their songs.
that is true but i dont think that style of singing works oan a maiden song. i think they are made for bruce too much and it just sounds wrogn when sung like them. i think the music is done well on the trooper. but just the vox. (i am very picky about vox) obv ou disagree but thers leaving you mark which you should do but i just cant stand those covers.

GurS 10-07-2004 10:06 AM

my favourite vid is the Camp Chaos Trooper

ashman 10-07-2004 10:07 AM
heyt what are some easy maiden solos to play? (and i mean easy by maiden standards!)
i can only play the solos in children of the ****ed and infinate dreams.
Easy solos: Number of the Beast, The Trooper, The Sign of the Cross, and Hallowed be thy Name...can't go wrong with them :thumb:

Best Video: Probably Camp Choas version of Aces High, Best video ever.

GurS 10-07-2004 01:26 PM

the aces high one is great, but the trooper one is better.

and the 2nd solo in blood brothers is easy. the running free 'soloish interlude' is easy, but it's just played fast

Thunder Fingers 10-07-2004 02:14 PM

well, i guess i got to put aces high up there to just becouse of steves lado bass in it :p

edit:
oh.. we where not talkin videos any more :p

errr.. hardest iron maiden solo.... errrh... blood on the worlds hands? :p im an bassist....

ashman 10-07-2004 02:21 PM

Where is the Trooper camp chaos video? I can't find it :(

er...hardest solo probably SSOASS, or Alexander the great...

*we were talking about easiest solos...*

oh right.... well as blood on the worlds hands is about steves only "solo" like thing, i guess i would have to place it there too...:p

I'm also curious as to what Maiden guitar solos are the hardest. They all sound about the same, difficulty-wise, to this bassist.

honestly...i know many many Maiden solos on guitar and Adrian are EASILY the hardest to play. Janick follows the same pattern, a F-major scale usually...and speed picks the majority of it, Davey's are preety rough at times due to his hammer-on speed and legatto style but overall if you know one Murray solo you can get the others down. Adrain however throws in alot of old bluesy licks, just he plays them so fast and intermingles them with speedy scales, taps, and many many bends. Of his, belive it or not "wasted years" is really really a bitch to play without messing up.

do you have visions of the beast?

if yes, playing track 6 three times in a row unlocks a secret video... a different one for each disc. one of them is the camp chaos trooper.

AND DO NONE OF YOU REALISE THIS IS PAGE 100?

GurS 10-07-2004 02:55 PM

no longer page 100 :upset:

Thunder Fingers 10-07-2004 03:13 PM

Whats so special about page 100?! (i got post 666!!!! no that wasnt me.. was it post 1000 or somthing then? :p)

ed hunter 10-07-2004 03:21 PM

GurS 10-07-2004 05:42 PM

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-07-2004 11:04 PM

Women in Uniform is catchy, but is not what id call anything memorable.

icebase 10-08-2004 02:23 AM

it's like the fourth best song on NOTB! (after hallowed, invaders, and title track)
oh and women in uniform is pretty poor...

shadow_stalker 10-08-2004 04:39 AM

Might be. But is it just me or are alot of Maiden vid's of them in concert. I'm not saying it's bad it's just getting old. What do you think?

PeEpHoLe_10 10-08-2004 06:24 AM

I saw Maidens self Titled the other day and decided to buy it. I like it,but i feel (as this, along with a best of is the only maiden i have) that this album probably wouldnt be very good compared to others. i love remember tommorow though.

how does this album compare to others?

Yeh, I think paschendale would be a great video, but it would have to be on a huge budget, or it might look crap...I was actually thinking about it the other day.

I don't mind it watching it them play, but in the out of the silent planet video, their not even playing it, its just loads of videos from the brave new world tour put into one....that made me so angry
