Definitely not two weeks. I got 100 posts yesterday (joined three days ago) and I can post threads if I want to.

Yeah do it. Will be well worth you're time. If you're a fan of Doom that is.

GitRChik 03-05-2007 06:17 PM

Anyone else into Blackalicious? Just discovered them. The Craft is one of the best albums I've heard, and Arrow is a close second.

Rams 03-05-2007 11:11 PM

I haven't heard The Craft but I doubt it could come anywhere near the level of Blazing Arrow, one of the best hip-hop albums I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Wow Rams, that song is absolutely amazing. Is it from the new Kanye album? If so, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-06-2007 12:08 AM

Wow that song was amazing.

Kyle 03-06-2007 06:23 AM

I have no idea, but I hope it is a sign Premo is producing Rakim's new album. Would be so dope if those two teamed up.

encmetalhead 03-06-2007 05:10 PM

Agreed, it would be amazing. But why is Nas' verse on that song so good when his new album is such rubbish?

ATM 03-07-2007 09:14 AM

Anyone heard the new Sage?

pulseczar 03-07-2007 02:07 PM

recommend me some Talib Kweli

badtaste 03-08-2007 06:45 AM

SO..... Is rap & hip/hop dead?

badtaste 03-08-2007 07:32 AM
are you serious
I was asking a question, so yes, I was serious about the question. Nah, just thought'd I'd spark some discussion here.

More of an enquiry, I don't listen to rap and hip/hop too often. Wondering if it is still progressing, or if it is even able to still make new grounds and set new benchmarks.

badtaste 03-08-2007 07:43 AM
Of course it's still making progress it's the most innovative genre of music out there right now. Nas can go suck a lemon.
Wha? I read fairly positive reviews of Nas' new album. I thought he was leading the cavalry...

Apocalyptic Raids 03-08-2007 07:44 AM

New Nas was pretty average.

Elliptical Ion 03-08-2007 10:50 AM

Illmatic changed my life.

antiant 03-08-2007 12:21 PM

"is rap/hip hop dead?" "is rock dead?" "is heavy metal dead?" "is *insert genre here* dead?" questions like these are not only stupid imo, but very cliche almost...i think people who ask these questions haven't really looked hard enough, if it's still going, obviously it isn't dead in the technical sense and those who complain about it, maybe you should do something about it, if you don't like the current state.

It seems we always get these people, spanning from different generations to conjure this phrase as if it was some profound epiphany, which frankly is neither profound nor new, if only this could stifle as it doesn't bring anything new to the table itself and ironically, they have just made themselves apart of the situation, just by questioning it, maybe they should take a look in the mirror, MUSIC will never be 'dead' maybe they should open their eyes, we have access to many types of music and sources, especially in this day and age, it's literally at your fingertips, if you learn how to utilize these sources, perhaps you'll find a a new world of music you never knew existed.

When people ask these questions, what they are telling us is that they have lost their creative touch, imagination and so forth and now they are limited and can't find another angle to approach the specifics of what they are talking about...that is all i have to say
