i can't decided on which album i want next by floyd. I either want PATGOD or meddle want cd should i get.
You're more likely to find PATGOD, as I am yet to see Meddle in regular cd stores. They are both awesome albums though, and very different.

ledpoisoning27 02-16-2005 07:29 PM

I've seen Meddle more at stores than PATGOD, i don't have the money to buy them both right now, so from people who have both of them, which one do you think is better?

Really? I've only seen DSOTM, WYWH, The Wall, The Final Cut, PATGOD and Animals. Too bad. But that's what pirating is for.

I'd say meddle, but I think both are really cool.

PeenkPhloide 02-16-2005 09:49 PM

this is from a while ago, but which version of run like hell has the synth in the beginning? I've listened to the ones off of delicate sounds of thunder, is there anybody out there, and pulse....and thats all i have. S'not on there. So where is it?

ledpoisoning27 02-16-2005 09:57 PM
I'd say meddle, but I think both are really cool.
thanks ive been looking for an answer like that all night, i know their both great albums and will end up buying both of them but i am low on cash, so i want to know which to buy first. thanks man :thumb:

ledpoisoning27 02-16-2005 10:01 PM

live versions of run like hell don't sound as good on the cds, but when i heard the aus Floyd do their live version, it was much better, they added a sweet drum solo at the end, with cool lazer effects. my dad was even saying that they might even be better sounding live than Pink Floyd because he went to one of their concerts in the '70s and said that Aus Floyd sounded better live.

PeenkPhloide 02-16-2005 10:08 PM

as my roger waters thread got deleted...i was wondering who thought amused to death was kinda crappy compared to all of his other work. I mean cause pros and cons was more floyd-like. Ehh, ideas?

sunday_morning 02-17-2005 05:10 AM
Just a random question for you guys, does anyone else really like Genesis?
genesis is cool.

magicbus 02-17-2005 11:41 AM

Buy Meddle first. That's my opinion, but I like the songs on Meddle more. Even though I like PATGOD also, I prefer the band without Barrett, because his songs were usually shorter and more poppish.

It's true. Aussie Floyd were great imitators, sounded like songs were ripped right off the albums. Which is okay, I guess. The show was all about the Lights though. No lazers, just an amazing light show with cool stuff projected behind. They did have an extended Comfortably Numb solo, but I'm sure still do they same one for every gig. Carefull With That Axe, Eugene was extended to an epic song too.

Kingofdudes 02-17-2005 03:31 PM

Someone may burn me Les Claypool's cover of the Animals album

They did a great job covering the songs.

Shazzam 02-17-2005 04:30 PM

I couldn't find Meddle and Animals anywhere, so I burned my friends.

Anyone else love the song Sheep?

The piano intro is amazing.

xAzagthothx 02-17-2005 05:18 PM

Animals is far and away the best floyd record, ever. simple as that. That record... wow. its just perfect.

I love the ending. Great stuff from Gilmour and Mason.

sheep is my favorite song on Animals. Favorite quote from the album, "You better watch out, they're dogs about."

Otherside 02-17-2005 06:12 PM

Actually, sheep is my least favorite on the cd, although I still like it.

lunch998 02-17-2005 06:29 PM

"Get out of the road, if you want to grow old."

Classic line.

DeusExMachina 02-17-2005 08:06 PM

I think Animals is a bit overrated on this forum. It's a great album, sure, but I'd say there are other Floyd albums which are quite a bit better.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-18-2005 01:08 AM

Personally, I would say Animals has the best insturmentals out of the Floyd albums I have heard. Plus, it's one of the most politically charged album of it's time, but it's not punk.

clown_phobia 02-18-2005 01:44 AM

I have a question:

Do the songs on Wish You Were Here flow into each other, like the songs on Dark Side of the Moon?

Riva 02-18-2005 06:25 AM

Yes and No. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (I-IV), Welcome To The Machine and Have A Cigar all blend in somewhat, but the music stops for the beginning of Wish You Were Here, and you hear people talking...
