Slipknot wouldn't be the same without all 9 of them. If someone left, they could easily afford to not replace them, it's not like they would be a band without a guitarist or anything, but they add a certain element. And they would have to redesign allllll of their merch.

Dunno 'bout the organic brain syndrom, I've never heard of the condition let alone the rumor. On one of their tours last year he couldn' make it because he needed emergency dental surgery. They played on without him though, which he asked them to do, and the fans were happy they didn't cancel on them.

They tune to A for some songs like "New Abortion", "Heretic Anthem", and "My Plague".

Slipknot tunes Drop D down 1&1/2 steps. Its then B-F-B-E-G#-C#.

for most songs it is around B, give or take half a tone. eg, spit it out tuning: Drop D down a further minor third (low to high:B, F#, B, E, G#, C#)

BTW its not so bad to tune if u have the correct strings, heave gauge of course (.055s - .013s ideally), otherwise the strings flop around like a bitch
