If Priest don't come to Australia, I will have to hurt someone. I dont really care if Slayer come or not.

Metal'til'death 06-04-2004 11:07 PM

Hey guys this has been done before but whats the most beautiful thrach song you've ever heard?

Mines "Solitude" on Iced Earth

superpeer 06-05-2004 04:51 PM

What megadeth album is Kill the king on?

I really like it.

Corporal Compendia 06-05-2004 06:44 PM

It's on the best of... Capitol Punishment or whatever they called it.

Ratmevilempire 06-05-2004 06:50 PM

What do you mean you don't care about slayer, Slayer are ****in awesome.

ThrashMaster27 06-06-2004 12:24 AM

Beautiful Thrash? them two words should not be seen together!

Anyway, has anybody ever listened to Xentrix? pretty mad Thrash band from good old Blighty. I recommend them as there's not to many decent Thrash bands that hailed from England.

FatalEnergy 06-06-2004 12:36 AM

Hey, is the band Heathen a good thrash band?

JMetallica 06-06-2004 04:24 AM

^^

Hell yes! One of the best, in my opinion!

Sabbat kicks total arse, and they are from england :D

Don;'t worry manuscript, me and a few metal heads are going to win the lotto and get priest out here. :D ... We've got it all planned.

Girl-Playing-Bass 06-06-2004 04:47 AM

Hey people. I just want to inform you I went to Dynamo open Air yesterday.. and it was fucking kickass!

First band I saw was Shadows Fall, and they were amazing live. Way better than i expected! They played songs like 'the idiot box' and 'destroyer of senses' and they were great! Brian Fair's dreads are so cool by the way!

After that Ill Niño played. I never really did like 'em but i took a look anyway. They played some reasonable tunes like 'te amo.. I hate you' but, meh i don't really care for them.

And then: Deicide! It was awesome to the bone! I had the feeling Glen benton live wouldn't be the same, but it was. His voice is as amazing live as on the albums! But I have a question: Doesn't he have grey hair? I thought he had grey hair... werd.

Children of Bodom played after that. They kick so much ass! It was amazing! I was moshing all the fucking time. They played Angels Don't kill, and hate me, and all the good stuff. Only bad thing about it was this fat guy, with a naked, hairy, sweaty body who was moshing: He was punching me all the fucking time, and he was pretty annoying (i don't mind when some cool long haired dude does stuff like that, but when a gross fat man starts touching me: I don't like it!). So I tried to punch him back, only problem is: I coulnd't becuase every time i tried, my hand would slip because he was so sweaty :(. Not a nice feeling. All in all, It was the second best show I've ever seen (I had eye conctact like a million times with Alexi, wich was awesome).

Then a band named 'oomph!' played. They played pretty good, but I had never heard of them, so i didn't bother coming up close to take a look. So I just had some beers.

After that Soulfly played. They weren't as good as I thought they would be (I'm not really into their music, but I thought: Maybe they are just a live band). They played some Sepultura stuff (Roots bloody roots, Chaos AD and the usual Speultura songs), I though that playing another band's songs was pretty lame (I don't care how many Soulfly members were in Sepultura, Soulfy is another band, they have to make their own fucking songs dammit!.. but that's just me...)
So, no this wasn't great.

A bit later After Forever played. I didn't bother going up front (you wouldn't believe the crowd AF has.. all these gothic girls.. and guys with corpse paint and dresses... I don't know about you, but I can't handle that!) So i just stood in the back, nodding my head :). They played pretty good. but I'm not a big AF fan either. But I guess they were pretty good live.

And then Life Of Agony.. The thing is, I knew this band for a long time, but I never bothered to download/buy some stuff. So I knew like maybe 3 LOA songs. And now I'm sorry for not getting to know more of them. They were AMAZING! They just blew me away. Keith Caputo has an amazing voice on stage! And the man is totally crazy!
They put on an awesome show! It was really good.

Then Agent Steel played, but I wasn't there. I was drinking a few beers with this German guy named Steffen. Who was a kickass dude by the way! In the COB pit, he saved me from the sweaty fat guy, en later he invited me to drink some beers with him and some friends.. so I did.

After that Stage 1 was for Nightwish. They played a lot of new stuff wich i don't really know, as I only know the older stuff. They had a great show with fireworks and fire and everything! It was great.. Only problem is me and my friend had a joint before and we couldn't stop laughing! There were some guys who were just too pathetic!
And i really cannot listen to the voice of the singer for too long. Really i can't handle that! So i went to get some beer, and a t-shirt and stuff.

After Nightwish, stage 2 was for Dimmu Borgir. But the thing is. Slayer was playing after dimmu on stage 1. And as Slayer was the last to play, probably 25.000 (!!) men and women were going to watch it. So i just kept waiting all the time at stage one (with a beer of course!) so that i wouldn't loose my spot.

And last but sure as fuck not least: SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was so ****ing amazing, you wouldn't believe it! They played all the good stuff (Angel of Death, War Ensemble, Fight till Death, Necrophobic, Postmortem, Mendatory Suicide, Payback and a lot more)
I have never seen such a fucking great live show! Not only that. The moshpit was fucking brutal! the wildest moshpit I've ever been in. I got home with bruises everywere, but it was fucking awesome! Well except for the posers. There were a lot of 'slayer fans'. Who pretend to like slayer, but in fact they were nothing. They didn't know the lyrics (they didn't even know the lyrics to AOD!! And when everybody went; PAYBACK'S A BITCH MOTHERFUCKER!!, they didn't know what the fuck was going on!), not only that... they didn't even mosh! How can you not mosh (or even nod your head a bit!) when fucking Slayer is playing man?!

Ooh ooh!! I almost forgot! The greatest thing happened to me! When Tom was like; DO YOU WANT TO DIE?!! and everybody went: YEAH! \m/!! Tom looked me right in the eyes and pointed at me and he nodded with this totaly insane grin on his face. I almost had a fucking heart attack!!

ok so that's about it. I'll post pictures later.

:chug:

EDIT: Woah there were a shitlaod of typo's in there :o

to clear that up :)

oomph! is a german band. they make the same kind of music like rammstein. they are pretty successful in germany right now. even though they started 15 years ago and they also were a big influence for rammstein.

max is the only soulfly member that was in sepultura. :)

Yeah i know oomph! is German, but that's really all i know.

And I know that Max is the only one who was in Sepultura. I was just trying to make a point. That even if half of Soulfy were in Sepultura, they still shouldn't play Sepultura songs! :)

Kreator 06-06-2004 05:26 AM

i think 1 or 2 coversongs are ok

JMetallica 06-06-2004 05:34 AM

^^

Eh, i don't think it's right, unless ofcourse sepultura had of disbanded. Then it would be ok.

It's the same as Ozzy singing Black Sabbath songs, and Halford singing Priest.

Girl-Playing-Bass 06-06-2004 05:39 AM
i think 1 or 2 coversongs are ok
Yeah, it's just my opinion. I don't really thingk you should sing songs from your former band. Even if it were just 2 songs. Soulfy is a different band, with different members, and different music. They should do their own songs.

Kreator 06-06-2004 05:48 AM

yeah that's true :-/

meh..

manuscriptreplica 06-06-2004 05:51 AM

As long as they music you like, who really cares? I wouldnt care if Judas Priest came over and played all cover songs, it would be worth it for seeing Judas Priest.

Girl-Playing-Bass 06-06-2004 06:04 AM

yeah, But i don't really like soulfy, so it kinda bothers me :D

Ve Das 06-06-2004 07:42 AM

Oomph! weren´t influential on Rammstein. If you listen to their old stuff, you´ll find they changed their sound to resemble Rammstein to get popular...

sensitiveorgan00 06-06-2004 08:16 AM

Nice, looks like you had a blast.

/me wants to see pics.

Yeah i had a great time. I'll post the pics (about 24) as soon as possible. Too bad i didn't get to take a lot of Slayer pics though.

NP: Slayer - Tormentor \m/

sensitiveorgan00 06-06-2004 09:39 AM

\m/ ARE YOU AFRAID OF NIGHT? AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Did they play Tormentor?

the german metal hammer said they were. it's pretty obvious that they changed their sound to get popular. but i don't care of them :)

Ve Das 06-06-2004 12:16 PM

Heh,the german Metal Hammer says a lot of things that are bullsh1t.Same as Viva, who said Tarja from Nightwish is an opera singer...

Griffin_Page 06-06-2004 09:00 PM

Yay.. me and Frank (drummer) are learning Hell Awaits.. I've been teaching him the drum parts and its starting to sound cool.. he just needs to get faster so that we can play past the intro riffs, and get into the verse and stuff.. so far we do all that in half-time drumming. But thats fine, I don't mind him learning as we play. I'm just there to jam anyway, I have no time limits or anything. I need to get some more guitar players and stuff tho, playing the Hell Awaits intro with one guitar doesn't sound as cool.. I'm just playing the Eb, E and A part, the rythym guitar doesn't exist there.

That song is Hell of fun to play (no pun intended), I know how to on bass.
It was back when Tom Araya's bass lines were good, now all he does is play the open E, I once distored my bass and started playing the intro at my school on our gym stage and I got kicked off, but it was cool. Hell Awaits is definatly Slayer's grand Masterpice

manuscriptreplica 06-06-2004 11:48 PM

Story: Saturday night me and a few mates went out to somewhere. In his car, he has a random St Anger CD that has been there for like 3 months. we all stop and get out, and this guy is taking a piss on a tree, so I throw the St anger at him. He goes "I dont want it" and throws it down the street. Then I get it and jump on it, thus destroying it

Yep, it was great.

Well, destroying horrible cds is a great experience. I destroyed my friends Devil Driver CD, but he has a burned copy too, that he wont let me near now. All I want to do is save the world from crappy music..

Yes, althought I like Chemical Warfare more.. we play Chemical Warfare too (drums halftime on that too for now).. that one is a little better to play with just one guitar too, doesn't sound quite as empty. Still, we need some more axemen..

angryagain 06-07-2004 12:15 AM

To deftoned and JMetallica, you guys just got me in. I havent' listened to Dark Angel yet but i will do so that i can join your clan asap. Lots of young punters in my home town are starting to get into their thrash again and i think its great. Long live thrash metal!!!
