everything needs to be approved by Apple, and they have some ridiculous criteria. one that they used to have was that every app had to be originally in Objective C (a *crap* language). that meant that if you had a super popular game or program that was originally in, say C or Java, you couldn't release your game on Apple even if you wanted to, lawl. they later found out that "OH SHIT this means no good apps", so they removed that particular criteria (now you only need to port your app, *sigh*). but there's still plenty retardedness left.
