Vinyl question

So Side B of that Planet Mental I bought off my friend skips and pops like crazy. I checked over it numerous times and I can't find a single imperfection or scratch or anything. My friend said he only listened to it a couple times. I don't think its my needle, because I'm listening to Meridian right now and its fine (Actually, it just popped right this second, but its nowhere near as bad as PM). wtf?

I really should invest in a record player. I want to start collecting vinyl and my friend is willing to give me a good deal on some of his.

Its overrated.

Just out of curiosity, is the sound better or is it just the fun of collecting records? Also, how cheap are record players?

I doubt it is the record it's self because I have planet mental on white it just came today and it plays fine...im not sure maybe your friend did something to it??

How old is your needle?

Do it, although im addicted now and spend most of my money on it.... But it's a fun hobbie!

Well, it depends. Like... Meridian by Sinking Ships for example doesn't sound as good on vinyl as it does on CD, but Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables by DK doesn't do it for me so much on CD, but I absolutely love it on vinyl. I think the main draw is collecting, and most 7"s aren't released in CD format.

Plus it's cheap if your just going to be buying them from bands at shows. So i'd say go for it. I got my record player,amp and speakers all for around 45 dollars.

Came with the player, which I got in December. I know I'm probably due for another needle anyway, but it seems like its more than just that.

Mine is pretty warped, and it came that way(most of them did), but it still plays fine.

That's pretty much exactly what Phoebe looks like. Oh and she's the Queen of our house...she just reminded me by taking a dump in the kitchen.

I always wanted a black one. Heidi is the fastest thing on four legs, she seriously rockets around my entire house for no reason, then just lays on her side in the middle of the kitchen in everybody's way.

A miniature schnauzer that is sitting at my feet right now and is the cutest thing that ever lived.

And a brown dog that may be a skipperke that we never really figured out what it is.
