on the surface yes, but i've heard that more then a few people were prone to such strange insistence due to their own poorly articulated religious beliefs and/or superstitions. D&D has a long history of controversy in that manner.

Yeah but witchcraft doesn't exist and besides it's dangerous to believe in witchcraft, because believing in witchcraft has had a nasty historical tendency to lead to people getting murdered.

There's the secular concern of D&D being addictive, but if we get rid of D&D for being "addictive," then let's get rid of television, too, because I see plenty of people sopping up tons of moronic programming in front of the idiot box. At least D&D is kind of cerebral
