Yep twenty years...that's hard to believe. I'm only 16 but it still seems like a long time. I've been seeing that album for my whole life. It's not my favorite
Tallica album...but it is the album that stands still in time for me

What type of Dog is it?
I dunno i'd have to ask my mum, but i shoulda called it Jason now i think about it. My parents got it because my old dog died, and i smite him every chance i have because he's not my original dog :naughty: :smash:

NP: Rose of sharyn - Killswitch Engage

Sph 01-03-2006 04:44 AM

Pfft, you know he should be named Cliff. You know it!

NP: AFI - Weathered Tome

mr black 01-03-2006 04:54 AM

Haha i know i was just saying in retrospect this new dogs more of a jason :smash:

Sph 01-03-2006 04:55 AM

Good at backup singing and uses a pick to play bass?

mr black 01-03-2006 05:00 AM

No, because he's not my old one i treat him badly... same as jason got treated badly because he wasn't cliff...

Sph 01-03-2006 05:07 AM

Oh, I thought you had some super-amazing mega musician dog for a second. That would be cool though...

NP: AFI - Porphyria Cutanea Tarda

blue3 01-03-2006 05:30 AM

That's a cool name for a dog. My friend named her dog Nikki, after Nikki Sixx. That had nothing to do with Metallica but whatever..

Sph 01-03-2006 05:33 AM

NP: AFI - No Poetic Device

So, do any other 'Tallifans like punk?

blue3 01-03-2006 05:36 AM

Not a fan of AFI.. I listen to Misfits once in awhile though.

Sph 01-03-2006 05:37 AM

Was just listening to them a moment ago. :thumb:

blue3 01-03-2006 05:39 AM

Ha yeah I know. I liked Misfits version of Die, Die My Darling more than Metallica's.

mr black 01-03-2006 05:59 AM

Yeah i like the misfits, and other random assorted punk... bodyjar, turbonegro ?
I'll be honest i have no idea what classify's as punk these days, it's just not the sex pistols anymore

Sph 01-03-2006 06:07 AM

Never Mind The Bollocks...

NP: Sex Pistols - Anarchy In The U.K.

blue3 01-03-2006 06:09 AM

Listen to more Metallica.. Never Mind The Bollocks is a great album.

ValeOfShadows 01-03-2006 06:29 AM

RATM is not punk.

mr black 01-03-2006 06:29 AM

haha i wouldn't exactly class RATM as punk dude, but they rock my socks either way :thumb:

Sph 01-03-2006 06:39 AM

You guys beat me to it!

NP: Dark Tranquillity - Mind Matters

ValeOfShadows 01-03-2006 06:44 AM

Too quick!

NP: Dark Tranquillity - Dry Run

Jev 01-03-2006 07:12 AM

Wtf? This isn't the now playing thread.

Sph 01-03-2006 07:23 AM

 True.

/goes to now playing thread

Kyle 01-03-2006 07:51 AM
haha i wouldn't exactly class RATM as punk dude, but they rock my socks either way :thumb:
I know nothing about genres of music what-so-ever because I don't really pay attantion to them, but RATM's lyrics were pretty punk, and that's all that matters for me. I always see punk as more of an attitude and a lifestyle than a style of music.

Sph 01-03-2006 07:58 AM

I agree with you there, but I wouldn't recommend going into the punk forum to start talking about RATM...

ValeOfShadows 01-03-2006 08:07 AM

Ahh...there rap/nu metal i think. And they have protest type lyrics. I've never heard them though.

Sph 01-03-2006 08:10 AM

You've never heard them? You should, they have a great sound. You heard Audislave?

ValeOfShadows 01-03-2006 08:14 AM

You mean Audioslave. Nope.

Kyle 01-03-2006 08:23 AM
Ahh...there rap/nu metal i think. And they have protest type lyrics. I've never heard them though.
Then your probably not the best person to decide which genre they fit into.

Anyways this is Metallica thread people!!

Sph 01-03-2006 08:25 AM

Of course, what shall we talk about then?

Kyle 01-03-2006 08:32 AM

I can't think of a single topic which hasn't been discussed a million times before in this thread, so let's just discuss one of those again. How about:

Favorite Drumbeats:
Favorite rythem guitar sequence:
Favorite lead part/solo:
Favorite Bass Riffs:
Favorite Vocal performance:

Favorite Drumbeats: Meh, I kinda like To Live is to Die
Favorite rythem guitar sequence: The first time the main battery riff comes in
Favorite lead part/solo: Fade to Black (Any of them)
Favorite Bass Riffs: Orion (not the bass solo, just the riffs in the whole song)
Favorite Vocal performance: Loverman :naughty:

fatbandit 01-03-2006 08:38 AM

Nice Cthulhu reference in the name there R'lyeh ;)

Favourite beat? And Justice For All. The toms sound well sweet.

Favourite rhythm part? Dyer's Eve.

Favourite lead? Ride The Lightning.

Favourite bass? Battery probably?

Favourite vocals? Bleeding Me or Where The Wild Things Are.

:smash:

(EDIT: Just watched the video on the Metallica site... Looks like everyone's wishes for another thrash album might be granted. They seem very conscious not to be doing NuMetal, and to get leads back in... Like the fans pushed for. So I think they've listened. I'd rather not have another MoP though. Something like AJFA but with a funky twist is what I'd like to see...)

Sph 01-03-2006 08:38 AM

Favorite Drumbeats: Probably Master Of Puppets.
Favorite rythem guitar sequence: Call Of The Ktulu.
Favorite lead part/solo: Disposable Heroes. Almost epic.
Favorite Bass Riffs: To Live Is To Die. Simply Amazing.
Favorite Vocal performance: So What?! :naughty:

/original

I would boo you, but I'm won't because even if it is a copy of mine, fuck opinion, its right :p

fatbandit 01-03-2006 08:45 AM

To Live Is To Die as favourite bass? :/

You can't hear it, and it follows the rhythm guitar in a very plodding ordinary way anyway.

:smash:

Jev 01-03-2006 08:47 AM

Favourite beat? Umm RTL
Favourite rhythm part? Creeping Death
Favourite lead? Ride The Lightning.
Favourite bass? St. Anger Bob Rock owns
Favourite vocals? Bleeding Me

To Live Is To Die and Call Of The Ktulu. I probably should've chosen Ktulu. As for To Live Is To Die, wasn't most of the rhythm written after the bass?

I couldn't think of any bass lines.

Father_Jack 01-03-2006 09:00 AM

Seek and destroy has some pretty cool bass lines over it.
