Baby Dee - Safe Inside the Day

Not nearly as good as the Konk song. Transvestite (hemaphrodite) sings better than Joanna Newsom, doesn't write as interesting songs. Hmm. Best song is "Big Titty Bee Girl (From Dino Town)," which is about albinos. Hooray Drag City!

Little Man being Erased 01-22-2008 02:58 AM

90 Day Men- Panda Park

More people here should listen to these guys. Psych/prog with very melodic elements almost like newer Blonde Redhead.

Drive Like Jehu - Yank Crime

1st time listening. So far it's really good.

Mechanical Kangaroo 01-23-2008 03:19 PM

Gotta love Drive Like Jehu. :thumb:

I've been listening to a lot of American Football and Afghan Whigs lately.

A Dead Modernist 01-23-2008 03:30 PM

Protest the Hero - Fortress
Early Elvis Costello

A Dead Modernist 01-23-2008 04:06 PM

Teenage Cool Kids - Queer Salutations

very pavement/weezer like, just more aggressive.

YDload 01-23-2008 04:09 PM

Polvo is like that too (also with more Sonic Youth-like guitar dissonance)

I just clicked back and forth between Meat Puppets' "Plateau" and Sonic Youth's "Death Valley '69" because they both start with drumstick clacks. and they were adjacent to each other in my shuffle. im dumb.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2008 04:30 PM

der's nothing on top
but a bucket and a mop!

Better than self-titled? If you've heard that.

perriwinkle 01-23-2008 05:35 PM

yes its better than self titled

Thanks 01-23-2008 05:37 PM

No it's not.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2008 06:07 PM
No it's not.
I'll second that.

SPIKES
TO YOU!

Anxious 01-23-2008 06:45 PM

Their self titled and Yank Crime are both excellent, but Yank Crime pulls ahead because of the better production and "Sinews".

Unwound- Leaves Turn Inside You

poopie 01-23-2008 07:02 PM

i think my favorite on self titled is If It Kills You

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2008 07:26 PM

Cursed - III
Pyramids - Through the Hourglass

Dies Irae 01-23-2008 07:31 PM

is that pyramids album as generic as the first

Anxious 01-23-2008 07:39 PM

I was about to say that.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2008 08:13 PM

i didn't really dig on the first one. this one seems a lot better.

Against Miik! 01-23-2008 08:38 PM

So I picked up the album Broom by the band Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. Really the name just caught my eye, but I figured it would be stupid because a lot of alt/indie is. But there really isn't a crappy track on the album. Nothing groundbreaking, but I kinda like it.

YourBiggestFan 01-23-2008 10:51 PM

yeah most alt/indie does suck man.

I've been liking some evangelicals.

perriwinkle 01-23-2008 11:56 PM

antelope - reflector

food for animals - belly - this is some of the best glitch hop i've heard
